You can build your party in a variety of different ways in Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth through the different skills and synergies characters bring to fights. With so many unique fighters on your team, it can be hard to choose which abilities mix and match together to bring out the best strategies against strong enemies. Only by experimenting with unlikely pairings will you be able to find the strongest compositions.

Not every character in the game is available like Tifa, Aerith, Barret, and Red XIII from Chapter 2 after Cloud's backstory. Yuffie and Cait Sith the party in FF7 Rebirth much later, so some party compositions will revolve around the starting characters. As you gain new , you should consider what skills they offer to create interesting pairings that could be much stronger than what you had before.

Perfect Balance - Cloud, Red XIII, And Barret

FF7 Rebirth Red XIII, Cloud, and Barret party composition

One of the strongest party combinations is Cloud, Red XIII, and Barret, whose skills perfectly complement each other and make up for each other's weaknesses. Cloud is the frontrunner of this team, getting up close and personal with enemies and dealing high damage. With Cloud's best weapons in FF7 Rebirth, he has a variety of skills like Focused Thrust and Counterstance that let him adapt to any situation.

Red XIII is a nimble character whose exclusive Vengeance system allows him to build up stagger on enemies and deal fairly high DPS on his own. Between him and Cloud, there are few enemies that can stand up to the might of their paired strikes, especially when you use Synergy Attacks with both characters. With Cloud taking the offensive and Red XIII on the defensive, it covers ground from many types of foes.

Red XIII has an ability from one of his late-game weapons called Watcher's Respite, which lets you convert his Vengeance Gauge into healing for everyone in your party. This is a great skill to help keep characters alive through unexpected from the Cosmo Canyon warrior.

The glue that holds this team together, though, is Barret since his long-range attacks can target opponents that Cloud and Red XIII can't reach. Barret also has more health than the other two party , making them a great person to hold onto Healing Materia if you're in a bind. The consistent damage and ATB build-up from Barret allows him to be versatile and adapt to many combat situations in FF7 Rebirth.

& Stagger - Cloud, Tifa, and Aerith

FF7 Rebirth team composition of Cloud, Tifa, and Aerith

The classic combination of Cloud, Tifa, and Aerith returns from FF7 Remake as a viable option in this sequel. Tifa remains one of the most fun playable characters in FF7 Rebirth with strong skills that heavily inflict stagger onto enemies. When paired with Cloud, you can quickly stun your opponents into submission before they've even had time to retaliate against your party.

The synergy of this team is made complete with Aerith, who can buff both Tifa and Cloud to charge their ATB faster or simply heal them with strong restorative abilities. Aerith is by far the best healer in the game and fulfills a similar role to Barret with long-range spell attacks. When using the right Materia, Aerith can be a force to be reckoned with even when fighting different targets without help.

A great strategy with this team is to quickly build ATB with Aerith, then place down the ATB Ward skill near your allies to fill their own meters. This allows you to continuously use the best skills from either Cloud or Tifa's best weapons in FF7 Rebirth as they quickly recover ATB. Since it costs ATB to cast Materia spells for Aerith, this is a good way for her to stay on the offensive as well.

The Wild Cards - Cloud, Yuffie, and Cait Sith

FF7 Rebirth party composition of Yuffie, Cloud, and Cait Sith

The most unorthodox party you could experiment with is Cloud, Yuffie, and Cait Sith, a team comprised of you recruit later in the game. Surprisingly, these outliers can work really well together, even though you may have to rely on a bit of luck to make this synergy work. This team has a shocking amount of defense between Cloud and Cait Sith, who both have more health than some other characters.

Yuffie uses skills like Elemental Ninjutsu to apply damage that takes advantage of the elemental weaknesses of her opponents. Similarly, Cait Sith rolls a dice that could inflict elemental damage on the right roll, or provide unique buffs to your team. With the best luck, you can make your team invulnerable to all enemy attacks, while even a bad roll combines with Yuffie's elemental strikes to reinforce a certain damage type.

FF7 Rebirth's new Folio Skill Tree system provides many skill cores to choose from, but some abilities are more useful than others.

Against certain enemies with the right weaknesses, this team can be nearly unstoppable as you combine luck and skill together to really take advantage of hyper-specific vulnerabilities. Having different magical Materia equipped to Yuffie or Cloud in FF7 Rebirth will help this strategy even further. This team composition may not work against every enemy or boss, but it can be a wild and fun party to experiment with.

Pure Damage - Cloud, Tifa, and Yuffie

Perhaps the best party composition you can try is with Cloud, Tifa, and Yuffie, who can deal some of the highest damage possible when on a team with each other. According to a video by YouTube creator GGRecon Gaming, Yuffie is extremely versatile and can fit almost any role on your team. She has the skills to be a great damage dealer or healer in equal measure with her various abilities.

Cloud takes on Barret's usual role in a way, becoming the pure tank of this team that provides consistent damage. The speed of Tifa and Yuffie lets them run circles around enemies, allowing you to keep up with the most agile foes. With the right Materia equipped to the ittedly lackluster health of these characters, you can speedrun even the toughest bosses with this team's damage alone.

Tifa's skills like True Strike and Unfettered Fury allow her to build stagger at extremely fast speeds, which is ed by Cloud's own moves. Yuffie is no slouch in this department either, using elemental weaknesses to stun enemies you come across. The unbridled offense this team is capable of makes them incredibly adaptable in Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth as one of the best party compositions in the game.
