Warning! SPOILERS ahead for FBI: International season 4, episode 8, "You'll Never See It Coming."

best FBI shows for the first three seasons. However, he left abruptly after Kleintank decided not to renew his contract. After Forrester went MIA and was said to be helping his fugitive mother, Wes Mitchell (Jesse Lee Soffer) came to Budapest in search of the person who had killed his partner in Los Angeles, becoming team leader after that case.

"You'll Never See It Coming" offers a compelling sequel to Mitchell's initial story. FBI International's returning villain Greg Csonka (Beau Knapp) is now on trial in Hungary for the murder of MItchell's partner, but the proceedings are jeopardized when he murders the star witness against him. After the FBI tricks Csonka into a plea deal, he's set to go away for 30 years but escapes to cause more mayhem, as Vo (Vinessa Vidoto) is shot during a confrontation. With Vo's life hanging in the balance, Wes decides to go rogue to end Csonka permanently.

FBI: International Season 4, Episode 8 Highlights Mitchell's Difference From Forrester

Mitchell Has A Hard Time Working With The Hungarian Authorities Because Of His Impulsivity

Throughout the episode, Mitchell has a harder time working with the Hungarian authorities than Forrester would have. Managing conflicts with local police, lawyers, and judges is a large part of the job as the FBI is often seen as intruders into another country's business. Forrester always handled these conflicts diplomatically, but Mitchell is unable to do so during "You'll Never See It Coming." He has an especially hard time staying calm and focused while interacting with the Hungarian prosecutor (Caroline Ford) and Csonka's defense attorney (Zach Grenier).

Meanwhile, all of Mitchell's decisions related to Csonka's trial are made emotionally. He makes the mistake of insisting on testifying and then allows Csonka's lawyer to bait him into losing his temper on the stand, almost destroying the case, after ignoring the prosecutor's warning that "we aren't in Cleveland. Hungarian trials are more like inquisitions." Additionally, he makes it too obvious that he is connected to Booth (Station 19's Jay Hayden), which raises suspicions even before he and Booth decide to go rogue.

How Forrester Would Have Handled Csonka's Dilemma (& Why It's Better Than Mitchell's)

Forrester Would Have Worked With The Authorities Instead Of Losing His Cool

Scott Forrester (Luke Kleintank) looks smug on FBI International Season 3 Episode 1

Scott was masterful at working with local enforcers. Thus, he likely would have dealt with several of the people involved in this crime differently. Most significantly, he likely would have worked with prison authorities to expose the rogue guard's behavior and might have worked with the local cops to ensure that they handled Csonka's transfer without putting FBI agents at risk, considering that the criminal wanted revenge for his initial arrest. It's possible that the situation would have escalated the same way regardless of who was in charge, but Scott's more level-headed approach could potentially have prevented Vo getting shot.

Wes' decision to go rogue is not well thought-out and will only lead to more trouble, underscoring how much the Fly Team lost when Scott left.

Understandably, Wes takes Csonka's case personally. Csonka killed his partner, who was like a brother to him. However, Wes' hotheadedness is not good for the Fly Team in FBI: International. As a leader, he needs to always be pragmatic. He often risks alienating key allies such as local police chiefs, and his impulsivity sometimes puts team , witnesses, or victims in harm's way. Wes' decision to go rogue is not well-thought-out and will only lead to more trouble, underscoring how much the Fly Team lost when Scott left.
