The Fast and Furious movies. Johnson's work can also be attributed to helping reinvigorate older franchises, including the Journey to the Center of the Earth franchise with Journey to the Center of the Earth 2 and Jumanji with the Jumanji sequels.

The breadth of Johnson's blockbuster work has recently led the actor to some impressive career milestones. The lifetime gross for movies in which Johnson was a lead actor crossed the $5 billion mark recently, making for an impressive record. Johnson also recently boasted the unique achievement of having two films in the top 5 at the box office, as both Red One and Moana 2 made it onto these rankings last weekend. Johnson may be a hit-maker, but not all of his films have been met with positive reception.

While not commonly known for playing villains, Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson has occasionally showcased his darker side with more sinister movie roles.

Despite its humble beginnings, Faster has now become a hit on Netflix. According to the streamer's Top 10 Movies in the U.S. Today chart (as of December 6), Faster has come in the no. 4 slot. It ranks below only Subservience, Our Little Secret, and That Christmas, all of which are films from this year. Also making this top 10 list, but losing to Faster, were Little, Run All Night, Transformers, Midway, Transformers: Age of Extinction, and Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen.

Our Take On Faster's Netflix Success

Audiences Want More Of Johnson

Faster stands out on this Netflix top 10 list, which is primarily dominated by the Transformers franchise and recently added 2024 titles. While it may be an unusual inclusion for this reason, Johnson's recent prominence in theatrically released movies such as Red One and Moana 2 help explain why audiences may have an increased interest in the actor. Despite its lackluster reviews, Faster is an interesting one for Johnson's fans to check out as it shows what he can do in an action film outside of a major franchise.
