Fast & Furious 11’s final scene is already obvious based on the way recent Fast and Furious movies have ended. While Fast X will be promoted as the beginning of the end as suggested by Vin Diesel (via Instagram), Fast and Furious’ final movie will be Fast & Furious 11. Not much is known about Fast & Furious 11’s story, yet it is reasonable to expect that it will continue the storylines setup in Fast X.

The Fast and Furious finale is promising to be a massive cinematic event, as Fast & Furious 10’s budget is bigger than that of Avengers: Infinity War. Given how much the Fast and Furious franchise has changed ever since Fast Five, an Avengers-like scale for the final two Fast and Furious films is no surprise. Still, the best and most likely Fast & Furious 11 would highlight the saga’s simplicity.

Why Fast & Furious 11 Will Likely End With A Toretto Family Barbecue

The Toretto barbecues have been a part of Fast and Furious since the saga’s very first movie. While Dominic Toretto’s family speeches in Fast and Furious have become a meme due to their overuse, Dom’s appreciation for his family is perhaps the only part of Fast and Furious that has never changed. Diesel’s Dominic Toretto himself is now a very different character compared to the one from The Fast and the Furious – a superhero more than an anti-hero – but at least his family motto has remained consistent. That includes the recurrent Toretto barbecues, which have appeared in several films and will likely be used again in Fast & Furious 11.

The first Toretto barbecue happened in The Fast and the Furious, although it was not used to end the film. Since then, Dom’s barbecues have served as the final scene for three Fast and Furious movies – Fast & Furious 6, The Fate of the Furious, and F9. The Fast and Furious films tend to end on a happy note, the only exception being Furious 7’s bittersweet ending montage that said goodbye to Paul Walker. However, given that Fast X and Fast & Furious 11 are being described as a two-part finale, the former will likely not have a happy ending as the story will have to continue.

Fast & Furious 11’s Ending Has To Feel Definitive

Vin Diesel as Dominic Toretto in F9

Fast and Furious has promised audiences “one last ride” quite a few times, and it never actually happened. From Fast Five to F9, Fast and Furious had at least two or three perfect endings for the saga, which is why Fast & Furious 11’s ending has to feel definitive. Though the Fast and Furious IP will probably continue at some point, the stories of Dominic Toretto and the Fast and Furious family have to come to an end in Fast & Furious 11. That is why a Toretto barbecue scene in Fast & Furious 11 would be so important, as it would establish that the adventure is over.

Granted, a happy and definitive ending never stopped Fast and Furious from unretiring Dom’s crew. Toretto and his family were millionaires after Fast Five’s vault heist, yet they returned in Fast & Furious 6 to help Luke Hobbs. Likewise, everyone got their pardons in Fast & Furious 6 but continued to be special agents for Hobbs and later for Mr. Nobody in Furious 7, The Fate of the Furious, and F9. Still, between teasing potential Fast and Furious spinoffs or ending with the crew celebrating their victory in a Toretto barbecue, the latter is the better option for Fast & Furious 11.
