Summary
- Pedro Pascal's vast experience in comic book adaptations make him uniquely qualified for the role of Reed Richards in the MCU's Fantastic Four.
- Pressure is on the MCU to deliver a successful Fantastic Four movie after previous failed attempts, making casting pivotal for this reboot.
- Despite Pedro Pascal's impressive back catalog of comic book adaptations, two of his performances will never officially be seen due to rejected TV pilot episodes.
Although only three of them are watchable today, Pedro Pascal's introduction to the the MCU's most iconic stars - is at the height of fame. What these discussions shouldn't come down to, however, is his experience.
The MCU is under a lot of pressure to deliver after three critically panned attempts at making Marvel Fantastic Four movies failed to do the team justice, and that's not to mention the controversial unreleased first attempt from the '90s. This pressure will surely extend to the Fantastic Four cast, which mostly comprises actors who have been making impressive waves in Hollywood of late. Pascal, of course, is one of these; but as The Fantastic Four's leader, his resume is fittingly more robust.

While the MCU is no stranger to casting big stars in leading roles, such as Scarlett Johansson and Samuel L. Jackson, none have quite as much applicable experience as Pedro Pascal. Even Pascal's breakout role as Oberyn Martell in Game of Thrones was an adaptation of a fantasy novel, but when it comes to adapting graphic novels, Pascal's back catalog speaks for itself. Pascal perhaps most notably appeared in a Wonder Woman adaptation twice, though his first role was as Diana's liaison to the police, a decidedly smaller role compared to his tenure as Maxwell Lord in Wonder Woman 1984.
One of the less well-known adaptations in Pascal's repertoire, The Sixth Gun, is based on the comic book series of the same name penned by Cullen Bunn, and features Pascal in a smaller role as Pinkerton detective Special Agent Ortega. Kingsman: The Golden Circle, meanwhile, is adapted from The Secret Service series penned by Mark Millar and Dave Gibbons, who retroactively added the Kingsman prefix to the series following the success of the movie franchise. Despite this impressive back catalog, however, two of his comic book adaptation roles are much harder to find than the others.
Why You'll Never Officially See 2 Of Pedro Pascal's Comic Book Performances
Pilot episodes for a Wonder Woman and The Sixth Gun TV series were commissioned in 2011 and 2013, respectively. Both were commissioned, but later ed on, by NBC. Unfortunately, this means the episodes can never be seen through official channels. A new attempt at The Sixth Gun is reportedly in the works under Universal Studio Group, though it is highly unlikely that Pedro Pascal will be involved now that he will presumably be preoccupied with his new MCU role in Fantastic Four.
