WARNING! Spoilers for Godzilla vs. Fantastic Four #1Fantastic Four distract Galactus in their next encounter. While Sue Storm has demonstrated a variety of innovative applications for her abilities over the years, her latest upgrade is impressive enough to warrant an inclusion in the Fantastic Four's MCU debut.
In Godzilla vs. Fantastic Four #1 by Ryan North, John Romita Jr., Mario Menyz, Scott Hanna, and Travis Lanham, the Fantastic Four find themselves backed into a corner as the battle that rages on between Godzilla and King Ghidorah escalates and threatens to destroy New York.
As a last-ditch effort to distract King Ghidorah, Invisible Woman comes up with a plan that pushes the limits of her powers. Sue uses her force-field manipulation abilities to project a Kaiju-sized hologram of the Thing that successfully catches their opponent's attention, and this creative strategy could be useful for the Fantastic Four in future battles.
Invisible Woman's Latest Upgrade Elevates Her Powers to New Heights
Ahead of the Fantastic Four's MCU Debut, Sue Storm Unlocks a New Ability
The Fantastic Four have successfully orchestrated a battle between Godzilla and King Ghidorah in this story, but it becomes clear that the two monsters' skirmish could have deadly consequences for the city if it lasts for too long. To that end, the heroes need to draw King Ghidorah's attention so that Godzilla can land a finishing blow, and that's where Invisible Woman's handy trick comes into play. Although she typically uses her ability to bend light as a means of turning herself and others invisible, Sue explains that she can also bend light in order to create a Godzilla-sized distraction.

The Fantastic Four Just Solved One of Marvel's Biggest Issues, Changing Its Supernatural Lore Forever
At long last, Marvel's vampire problem has been solved, and the Fantastic Four's Reed Richards is to thank for inventing the novel solution.
Sue explains, "I might be able to alter something's apparent scale - kinda like a giant fun-house mirror, only three-dimensional." Essentially, Invisible Woman can manipulate the light around the Thing so that a holographic version of him that's much larger in scale can be seen by others. The Thing isn't actually growing, of course, as it's nothing more than an allusion - but it's an illusion that manages to catch King Ghidorah's attention as planned. Invisible Woman's superpowers encom much more than basic invisibility, and it's fascinating to see what she can do when she thinks outside the box.
Fantastic Four's Invisible Woman Has Pushed Her Powers to Astonishing Heights
Invisible Woman's Latest Skill Is One of Many Impressive Upgrades
A common misconception about Invisible Woman is that her powers are limited to generating simple force-fields and turning objects invisible. On a surface level, invisibility might indeed pale in comparison to her teammates' flashier powers, such as Human Torch's flames. However, Sue has proven over the years that there's much more to her power than meets the eye. Ryan North's current ongoing Fantastic Four series in particular has shown just how formidable Invisible Woman can be, shattering the limits of what she can do with her abilities.
Invisible Woman's superpowers encom much more than basic invisibility, and it's fascinating to see what she can do when she thinks outside the box.
For example, in Fantastic Four #6, Sue creates a force-field that's large enough to block the sun and shroud portions of the Earth in darkness. After this, Maria Hill determines that "Invisible Woman's a walking, talking mass-extinction event", affirming Sue's status as an underrated powerhouse in the Marvel Universe. She can even combine her powers with the Human Torch's to form an unstoppable laser that's capable of destroying anything it points at with ease. Invisible Woman is the key to many Fantastic Four victories, and she may not be the key to obtaining a major advantage over Galactus if they ever face off again.
Thanks to Invisible Woman, The Fantastic Four Have the Perfect Anti-Galactus Strategy
Invisible Woman's Powers Can Help in Battles Against Galactus
Thanks to Invisible Woman, the Fantastic Four may have finally uncovered a sure-fire way to beat Galactus once and for all - or, at the very least, gain the upper hand against him. Galactus' size and overwhelming cosmic power make him a challenge for the Fantastic Four to fight head-on, but by enhancing the size of a hero like the Thing to draw his focus, Sue can buy her teammates time to attack the World-Eater while he's distracted. Now that Invisible Woman has unveiled this epic superpower, the MCU would be remiss not to utilize it against Galactus during the Fantastic Four's imminent confrontation with him in their next movie.
