After Evil could move to another streaming service sometime in the future.
In an interview with Screen Rant's Tessa Smith at New York Comic Con, co-creators Michelle and Robert King spoke up about Evil's potential to return. The creative duo reflected on the fact that the show has earned more love through streaming on Paramount+ and Netflix, but they believe that the audience came too late. There is still hope for a streaming return, but it remains to be seen. Check out their responses below:
Michelle King: It's fantastic. I love the fact that even more people are enjoying the show now that it's gotten on Netflix.
Robert King: And I'm disappointed because they found it too late. Why can't we back up history about a year? Because a lot of the fans came are probably a little too late to save the show. Although never say never, who knows?
Screen Rant: Is there any chance that maybe it will continue?
Robert King: I just think that the streaming world mixed with the old traditional world has created some very odd bedfellows and children. But anything could come out of this.
What Evil's Late Success Means
The Show Still Has The Chance To Survive
The creators went into Evil season 4 knowing that it would be the show's last. Paramount gave the word that the show would be ending after season 4, so the final episodes were produced with eyes open. The co-creators were even permitted four additional episodes, on top of the typical season lengths, to close the existing plot threads. The Evil series finale saw the Assessors separating, with Kristen and David outright moving to Rome, and thus seemingly closing the loop on its narrative.
Evil spent 11 weeks at the top of Nielsen's streaming ratings.
There is still a chance that the series can continue, of course. Other shows have achieved a revival after cancelation by moving to other networks or platforms. The Expanse survived by moving to Prime Video, Lucifer moved from Fox to Netflix, and Designated Survivor moved from ABC to Netflix. Warrior Nun, a Netflix show, was canceled and revived for a movie after a massive outcry from audiences. Evil could potentially receive similar treatment if its own audience remains persistent.
Why You Should Watch Evil
The Show Has Amassed Some Big-Name Fans
Regardless of what the show's potential future holds, there are a number of reasons why one should still the growing Evil fanbase. For starters, acclaimed horror author Stephen King has been a major advocate for the show, frequently voicing his praise during the final season's airing, but also campaigning for season 5 to be made. King has become well-known of late for his recommendations of both films and TV shows, the large majority of which proved to be critical hits, including MGM+'s From and Peacock's Teacup, among others.

10 Shows Like Evil To Watch If You're Annoyed About Season 5 Not Happening
Though Evil won't be getting a season 5, there are still plenty of great TV shows that have similar supernatural mysteries & fantasy storylines.
Beyond just King's advocacy for the show, Evil also has the rare status of receiving nothing but acclaim across its entire run. Where some shows may start off on rocky ground before growing into acclaim, the horror drama began with an impressive 92% approval rating from critics on Rotten Tomatoes before growing all the way to 100% for its latter two seasons. Considering the show's streaming success wasn't just relegated to its home platform of Paramount+, but also Netflix ahead of season 4's premiere, it's also clear that audiences are becoming more and more hooked on Evil. While, on paper, the show may sound like another X-Files-type case-of-the-week show, the Kings ultimately found a much more unique balance in the supernatural ongoings, dark sense of humor and timely explorations of religious faith and various social themes, ranging from the dangers of artificial intelligence to police brutality and racism.
Our Take On Evil's Potential Return
Evil's Ending Leaves Room For More
Ordinarily, a show that offers a definitive conclusion should not be revived. They have wrapped up their arcs, sent characters away, and solved whatever incident incited the show. Evil, however, is different, as the story left room for David and Kristen to continue their war against evil from Rome, and it also provided a path for future storylines through the baby anti-Christ. Even the villain, Leland, can be brought back for further exploration. This finale was more akin to a pause, rather than an actual conclusion, so if the show is revived, it would not be jarring.

Evil is a psychological mystery series that follows a skeptical forensic psychologist, Kristen Bouchard, who teams up with a Catholic priest-in-training and a tech expert to investigate purportedly supernatural incidents. The series delves into complex themes of religion, science, and the nature of evil through its deeply layered narrative and character development. The show stars Katja Herbers, Mike Colter, and Aasif Mandvi.
