Instagram Arada gives audiences an idea of what a live-action Encanto 2 has not been announced at this time. However, Disney has shown its commitment to the franchise in other ways – an Encanto ride is in the works at Animal Kingdom.

While Disney may not have announced a follow-up to Encanto yet, that hasn't stopped Instagram Arada from imagining a live-action version of the story. The 's art depicts key of the Madrigal family: Mirabel, Abuela, Isabela, Bruno, Pepa, Luisa, Antonio, and Dolores. Many images feature the family's beloved Casita, which was a character in its own right in the film.

What The Images Mean For A Live-Action Encanto Movie

The Images Prove How Well Encanto Could Work In Live-Action

A live-action Encanto movie presents some challenges, notably how to depict the Madrigals' gifts in a way that feels just as impressive as in the animated movie. A live-action film would have to rely on a lot of CGI, which could take away from some of the story's inherent magic. However, Arada's images highlight how neat it would be to see other elements in live-action, especially the characters' colorful costumes and Casita.

Our Take On The Encanto Live-Action Images

A Live-Action Encanto Movie Would Be A Slam Dunk For Disney, But It Might Not Be The Wisest Option

The images make a good argument for a live-action Encanto movie, and the original's success proves that audiences would turn out for it. In fact, those who skipped the original film in theaters due to the pandemic would relish the opportunity to experience the music and story in a theater for the first time. However, while a live-action Encanto movie would almost certainly be a box office hit, I don't think it's the most interesting option for the franchise's future.

Encanto 2 Will Inevitably Crush The Original's Box Office Performance

Encanto was a massive success for Disney, but not necessarily at the box office. Encanto 2 will easily top its earnings whenever it finally arrives.

I'm much more interested in an animated sequel that allows us to spend more time with the Madrigal family and get to know them better. One of the original movie's biggest draws was just how realistic and relatable the Madrigal family felt despite their magical abilities. The sheer number of family did a lot to flesh out the movie's world, but it also meant some characters didn't get as much screen time and backstory as others. An animated Encanto sequel would allow audiences to learn more about all of the family , deepening their investment in the franchise.

Encanto tells the tale of an extraordinary family, the Madrigals, who live hidden in the mountains of Colombia, in a magical house, in a vibrant town, in a wondrous, charming (and enchanted) place called an Encanto. The magic of the Encanto has blessed every child in the family with a unique gift from super strength to the power to heal—every child except one, Mirabel (voice of Stephanie Beatriz). But when she discovers that the magic surrounding the Encanto is in danger, Mirabel decides that she, the only ordinary Madrigal, might be her exceptional family’s last hope. Mirabel will seek out her missing cousin, Bruno, to discover the truth that Abuela has buried away for all of their lives.
