Warning! This article contains SPOILERS for The Bad Batch season 2, episode 16.

The final two episodes of The Bad Batch season 2 have premiered on Disney+, leaving audiences with a lot of new questions about Omega and her new sister. Omega, a female clone of Jango Fett, was said to be the only clone with unaltered DNA other than Boba Fett, who was as a son to Jango rather than just another clone. However, The Bad Batch season 2 finale revealed that Emerie Karr, one of Dr. Hemlock’s scientists, is also a clone.

It wasn’t rdisclosed whether Emerie’s DNA is also unaltered like Omega’s and Boba’s, nor is it clear where her allegiances lie—with her brothers and sister, or with the Empire. Emerie first appeared in The Bad Batch season 2, episode 11 “Metamorphosis,” though the top half of her face has been partially covered by her goggles, which allowed her to fly under the radar as a clone until the reveal in the season finale. Though Emerie is a clone, Dr. Hemlock trusts her enough to heal Omega’s injuries after she and the Bad Batch crashed a cable car on Eriadu. This could indicate that Emerie may not be willing to help her fellow clones.

Star Wars: The Bad Batch Has Introduced TWO New Sisters Of Boba Fett

A large part of The Bad Batch season 1 was learning Omega’s history and her importance to both the Kaminoans and the Empire. It was revealed that Omega was an unaltered clone of Jango Fett, making her DNA valuable in how it could expand the Empire’s cloning program. Upon escaping Kamino, Omega was able to find a home and family with Clone Force 99. The Bad Batch was a group of defective clones, but Omega was also an outsider on their homeworld. Not only was she a girl, but she wasn’t trained for the military, and her DNA was different from the regular clones.

While there’s still much to be learned about Emerie Karr, she obviously excelled in the science behind cloning technology, much like how Nala Se had taught Omega. It’s unclear when Emerie was born, but it’s safe to assume before, or around the same time as Omega. Since Omega’s DNA wasn’t altered, she’s technically older than the rest of the Bad Batch. However, if Emerie is like Omega and Boba Fett, who also had unaltered DNA, she may have been a twin for Boba, or perhaps even older than him. The Bad Batch season 3 will undoubtedly shed some light on when Emerie was born.

Why The Kaminoans Created Identical Clones To Boba

Omega and Kaminoans in Star Wars The Bad Batch

One of the issues the Kaminoans were facing in the later seasons of The Clone Wars was that Jango Fett’s original DNA was starting to deteriorate and Boba Fett, his pure genetic replica, had left Kamino after his father was killed by Mace Windu in Star Wars: Episode II - Attack of the Clones. By making another pure, unaltered genetic clone in Omega, it would have allowed for more clones to be created. Doing so would replenish the genetic material for several years, especially since the DNA was in a living individual.

Not only would Omega’s DNA be used to make more clones, but it would also be used to continue the Kaminoans' experiments.

Technically, the Bad Batch—Hunter, Wrecker, Tech, and Crosshair—were all failed clones, as their DNA mutated; however, this allowed the group to become an elite force within the Grand Army of the Republic. It seems clear that much of the advancement of the Kaminoan cloning technology resides in Omega and her DNA. The Bad Batch is seemingly hinting at the beginnings of Palpatine’s plan to clone himself, which would allow him to reappear in Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker.

What Will Happen To Boba Fett's New Sister?

Emerie Karr reveals her identity to Omega - The Bad Batch season 2 finale.

It would certainly be interesting to see Boba Fett brought into the mix in The Bad Batch season 3. While Boba is still a young bounty hunter, it would be fascinating to see his reaction to having not only one, but two sisters. After Tech’s death in The Bad Batch season 2 finale, the Batch may be looking to find someone to compensate for the hole Tech left, and Emerie Karr might be the solution. While she could never replace Tech, her intelligence may be an advantage if the rest of Clone Force 99 can get her on their side.

Emerie’s words to Omega indicated that she did not trust Nala Se or any of the other Kaminoans. This could indicate that she, just like Omega, is looking for a family and a place to belong. Omega found that with the Bad Batch, and if Emerie is genuine, she may also be able to find a home with them too. Only time will tell what will happen to Emerie Karr in The Bad Batch season 3, but it appears her story has only jut begun.
