Elden Ring's recent 20-minute gameplay video demonstrated a multitude of new and returning features. It also included a substantial look at several NPCs, such as the boisterous living pot Alexander and the mysterious (but seemingly friendly) figure Melina. Many aspects of combat seem to have been improved compared to past FromSoftware titles, with Elden Ring's gameplay preview showing off visually spectacular magic abilities and what appear to be precise close-quarters combat hitboxes. The title's open world-design, complete with a map and bosses that can ambush players as they explore, could help the game to stand out among its predecessors.

By revisiting and revitalizing aspects of past Soulsborne games, Dark Souls based on what's been shown so far. This improvement seems to extend to Elden Ring's character classes, which are all recognizable and look as though they can very different playstyles. Lucky players will be able to explore these classes during November 12's Elden Ring network test.
