Registration for This year's E3 experience will be hosted through a designated portal and app, which act as a central hub boasting online forums, virtual booths, and video conferencing features.
Previously, E3 organizer the ESA announced that of the press gain access to the functionality for a five-day media week starting on Monday, June 7. Fans can expect to the fun free of charge on Saturday, June 12. The public access portal will specifically play host to exhibitor booths comprised of everything from VOD segments to hubs featuring key announcements. It seems the ESA and its partners are gearing up to put on quite the show, too, with the likes of Bandai Namco, Sega, Take-Two Interactive, and WB Games scheduled to take part in the all-digital festivities.
Today, the ESA opened E3 2021's portal and app registration to qualified media . In a press release, the trade association noted that registration will begin for industry professionals and influencers next week on Monday, May 31. Fans can the following week on Friday, June 3. Once ed and capable of g on during the aforementioned access dates, fans and professionals around the world will get to attend a virtual reimagining of one of the industry's biggest events.
It's worth noting that watching this year's E3 festivities outside of the portal and app remains an option. As is usually the case, viewers can also tune in via E3's respective Facebook, Twitch, YouTube, Twitch, and Twitter pages. However, fans choose to participate, they are in for a four-day exhibition replete with commentary and interviews hosted by Kinda Funny's Greg Miller, entertainment host Jacki Jing, and eSports commentator Alex "Goldenboy" Mendez.
E3 returns this summer after taking a year off in 2020 for the first time since its inception in the mid-1990s. The ESA opted to organize an all-digital exhibition this year in an effort to abide by health concerns related to COVID-19. E3 2022, however, will see the trade association attempt to reinstate the annual event as an in-person gathering.
E3 2021's digital event is slated to run from Saturday, June 12 through Tuesday, June 15.
