Developer Techland has revealed that Dying Light 2 will feature twice as many parkour moves as the first game. The first Dying Light, released back in 2015, was a survival horror title in which players could battle zombies using weapons or flee from the horde using advanced parkour maneuvers. The game was praised for its gameplay, multiplayer component and immersive day-night cycle which affected zombie behavior.

Techland recently released a teaser trailer for Dying Light 2, which teased a full reveal of the game on a May 27 livestream with the developer. The brief teaser trailer shows an unassuming brick wall, but when day quickly turns to night the sounds of a zombie horde can be heard. The darkness also reveals the phrase "Dying 2 know more?" painted on the wall, which leads to the announcement of the livestream.

During the recent Dying Light 2 livestream, Techland revealed that the game will double the number of parkour moves featured in the first game. The game's large open world can be effortlessly navigated using this huge host of movements, such as wall runs and swings, including over 3,000 unique parkour animations. In the gameplay shown during the livestream the player character can be seen sliding down rooftops and dropping from one crane to another with grace. Techland also promises that parkour will be discussed further in the next development livestream.

While news of Dying Light 2 is very exciting for open-world zombie fans, the game's predecessor will also be receiving a rerelease in the near future. Dying Light Platinum Edition was recently leaked onto the Microsoft Store, giving players a glimpse of what they may expect when they return to the infested quarantine zone. Platinum Edition is said to release on May 27 and will feature all of the able content previously released for the game, including numerous cosmetic items and the expansion The Following.

Dying Light 2 looks to be an evolution of the first game, with combat and movement systems completely overhauled and improved. The map of Dying Light 2 is also four times bigger than that of the original game. Parkour was a major mechanic in the first game which helped it to stand out next to similar zombie titles, so doubling the number of moves for the sequel is an impressive feat. While not much gameplay has been revealed by Techland, it appears that the developer is ready to begin showing off the apocalyptic adventure.
