Dice maker False Life Dice has created a truly impressive giant Underdark-themed D20 that would make for an impressive addition to any players who are just getting into the game and don't have their own supplies yet.
Many companies have picked up on D&D fans' love of dice, including storefronts like False Life Dice and even Wizards of the Coast itself. The company responsible for Dungeons & Dragons features many official dice and related accessories, and in the past it's released sets based on books and published adventures coming out around the same time. Sometimes the company releases much more prominent dice sets, too. In honor of the legendary tabletop game's 45th anniversary in 2019, for instance, Wizards of the Coast released a limited run of special edition sapphire D&D dice for wealthy fans.
But Wizards of the Coast is far from the only one dispensing impressive tabletop dice. A recent Twitter post from False Life Dice shows off a truly impressive new product in the form of a single massive D20 with what look to be glowing green mushrooms sprouting within. The 20 side of the die rests beneath the soil the mushrooms look to be growing out of, but False Life Dice has assured fans that despite appearances the die is perfectly balanced, as everything inside is made of resin. False Life Dice has plans to sell copies of this 40mm D20, but at the time of this writing, the die is unavailable on the storefront.
The die's Underdark theming pays homage to one of the more iconic settings in Dungeons & Dragons. The Underdark is a vast underground region of caves and chasms where frightening subterranean beasts lurk alongside dark elves and mind flayers. Within such a realm it would probably be easy to encounter phosphorescent mushrooms like the kinds represented in this impressive D20, and having the die at the table during an adventure underground could be a good way to improve immersion for players.
But whether one is a DM planning an Underdark expedition for their campaign or just an avid collector of impressive and striking dice, as so many Dungeons & Dragons players are, one cannot deny that there's a lot of impressive artistry in the D&D community. This die is just one of countless examples of beautiful and impressive dice on the market, and these striking accessories are just a small part of what makes Dungeons & Dragons such a fulfilling hobby for those who love it.
