Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zero's Fusions Are Taken Straight From The Anime

There Are Multiple Ways To Fuse DB Characters

The first instance of fusion occurred in the movie Dragon Ball Z: Fusion Reborn, where Goku and Vegeta used the Fusion Dance to create the form of Gogeta and defeat the villain Janemba. The movie came out in March 1995, and then in June 1995, the Dragon Ball Z anime debuted the episode Union of Rivals. The episode took place during the Buu Saga and featured Goku and Vegeta coming together via the Potara Earrings to create Vegito. During that same arc, Goten and Kid Trunks come together through Fusion Dance to fight Buu with their fused form of Gotenks.

Those three fusions became key parts of the franchise, including being featured in several video games and even being used in other Dragon Ball films and series. For example, Gotenks showed up in Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero, albeit in a lesser form, and Gogeta made his first canon appearance in the film Dragon Ball Super: Broly. Meanwhile, Vegito made his next canon appearance via the Future Trunks Saga in Dragon Ball Super to fight Fused Zamasu. Kefla made her first appearance later on in the Universal Survival Saga.

Bringing all these fused characters to Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zero further highlights the game's desire to reach all iterations of the manga and anime and showcase the wide range of characters that people can play. There are still questions about the game to be had, including the potential use of microtransactions and the release date for the title. However, the biggest question will be what the next Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zero trailer will show, and how many more characters will be named to fill out the roster.
