With King Dabura gone and King Gomah claiming the throne of the Demon Realm, the series lays out its exposition, including the idea of white wishes and black wishes. Black wishes introduce a darker, more powerful form of wish-making that even a being like Shenron is incapable of. By exploring the idea of black wishes, Dragon Ball Daima could be setting the stage to explain the origins of the Black Star Dragon Balls, potentially creating a direct link to Dragon Ball GT.

The Power and Consequences of the Black Star Dragon Balls Must be Rooted in Black Wishes
The concept of black wishes aligns with the idea of Black Star Dragon Balls in GT, with them being described as far more powerful and dangerous than the traditional set. Daima’s introduction of the idea of white and black wishes might offer a meaningful backstory to the existence of the Black Star balls, which have been shrouded in mystery. The only thing known for certain is that they were created by the Nameless Namekian, the being that was Kami and Piccolo before they separated.
It’s logical that the Black Star Dragon Balls were created with dark magic in mind since it explains their power and catastrophic risks. By grounding the Black Star Dragon Balls in the idea of black wishes, Daima could very well provide a framework for why these Dragon Balls exist in the first place, as well as why they were hidden away for so long. If Daima explores the consequences and origins of black wishes, it could reveal the origins of the Dragon Balls in GT and establish the idea that the dangerous orbs were remnants of a past era.

Dragon Ball GT Becoming Canon Isn’t Too Farfetched
The Demon Realm was introduced in Dragon Ball Z but has been long separated from the series until the introduction of Daima. Similarly, the gods and the existence of multiple universes were separated from the characters before the introduction of Dragon Ball Super. There is a possibility that both the Demon Realm and the realm of the gods could become closed off to Goku and his friends one day, allowing the series to flow more fluidly in its continuity. Even so, events and small details, such as black wishes, could carry over to other Dragon Ball series.
For example, the end of Dragon Ball Z has Goku deciding to train Uub and Dragon Ball GT takes this idea and starts with Goku returning from said training. It fits into the continuity of the main series, and with Dragon Ball Super and the introduction of Daima, it’s entirely possible that the series could officially lead to GT. Introducing black wishes early on lays the groundwork for darker elements and power that align with the existence of Ultimate Shenron. These elements may just reinforce the lore of the Dragon Ball universe and tie everything together.

The series has also enjoyed several popular video game adaptations and continues to release several new animated series and theatrical films up to the recent popular Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero.
