In between all the fights and missions in factions within The Veilguard.

The Lighthouse once belonged to Solas, and the hub will open up and change as the story progresses, allowing everyone to have a space to make their own. There are several secret Lighthouse areas to unlock with hidden rooms and puzzles for Rook to solve to get loot. Most Lighthouse themes can be bought from faction merchants at shop rank three and can be changed via a podium in the main area between Rook’s room and the infirmary. And with seven possible themes, every Rook should be able to put their stamp on the Veilguard’s base of operations.

7 Solas' Original Theme Matches His Priorities

Unlocked By Default

The first Lighthouse theme is the default when first arriving at the base and is the original decoration that Solas had when he lived there. This theme is very minimal and basic with pots and side tables along the walls of the main library area. It is very functional and speaks to Solas’ priorities, where even the area at the top of the main Lighthouse structure named the Wolf’s Den is sparsely decorated. With this theme, the courtyard area has no decoration with only the central monument just behind the Caretaker’s station adding any personal touches.

The area that has the most decoration with Solas’ theme is the central library and meeting area. Here, bookcases line the walls high up and out of reach, adding to the bookcases in the room. The meeting area has yet more bookcases as well as a few pots and side tables. Overall, this theme works well for when the team first arrives at the Lighthouse and explores the space, as they have other concerns than the aesthetic of their new home. However, as time es, Rook should change the theme to mark the Lighthouse becoming their hub and not Solas’.

6 Antivan Theme Brings A Little Treviso To The Fade

Can Be Purchased From Fletcher For 700 Gold & 20 Flawless Crystals

The Anitvan theme is very purple with a significant change to the lighting within the library, as all the lights and even the braziers are now lit with purple flames, making the whole area feel much darker. There are plenty of lush-looking curtains hanging on the walls of the library along with large statues of hooded figures that make the top section of the library feel quite opulent. Along the walls under the murals of Solas’ regrets are simple pots alongside nice end tables and a couple of female crow statues flank the theme pedestal.

The Antivan theme will become unavailable if Rook chooses to save Minrathous instead of Treviso. While some of Fletcher’s items will be available from the spirit vendor in the Crossroads, the Antivan theme is not one of them.

However, down in the meeting area of the main Lighthouse, the Antivan theme is a bit of a letdown and feels quite plain. The meeting area is rather boring with an ornate but small dresser and decorative silver platters on the wall. The courtyard outside has more of the large female crow statues and a huge crow on the main building, with the final touches of purple in the form of banners hanging on the dining hall and the main Lighthouse. Overall, the theme is simpler than some of the others but lacks the little details that make them stand out.

5 Grey Warden Theme Fit For A Proud Member Of The Order

Can Be Purchased From Holden For 700 Gold & 20 Flawless Crystals

The Grey Warden theme leans heavily into the griffon and warrior iconography with plenty of statues throughout the Lighthouse. Large statues of Wardens with shields, swords, and axes fill the library area alongside griffons on pedestals. The meeting area in the main building has a beautiful tapestry, as well as armor stands, chairs, and tables. However, along the top section, next to the murals, are weird stuffed nugs standing on their hind legs which feel out of place in the Grey Warden aesthetic. And unfortunately, these creepy pink pig creatures do spoil the interior decor of the theme.

Outside is a return to the classic Warden look with posed Grey Warden warrior statues flanking the doors of the dining hall and main Lighthouse building. Above the doors of the Lighthouse is some beautiful bronze detailing featuring a pair of griffons, and blue Warden banners hang from the walls. The outside decor is much cleaner than the interior, but the theme is mostly consistent and perfect for any proud Warden that turns the Lighthouse into a faction headquarters, far more so than other themes available.

4 Nevarran Theme Perfectly Represents Mourn Watch

Can Be Purchased From Vorgoth For 500 Gold & 20 Flawless Crystals

Of all the factions in The Veilguard, the Mourn Watch of Nevarra perhaps have the strongest and most distinct aesthetic. With bold greens paired with gray, there is no mistaking Nevarran decor for any other and the same can be said for their architecture. The Nevarran theme is full of urns, skeletal statues, and tapestries that turn the Lighthouse library into a home away from home for Emmrich and Manfred. The entire room is bathed in green light from the braziers and large wall-mounted skulls with glowing green eyes fill the space to watch over the team.

The central meeting area feels much darker with this theme but has attractive bookcases and a display case along with more urns and statues. Heading outside into the courtyard, there are more skulls with massive crowned skulls now placed above the doors of the dining hall and main Lighthouse. On either side of the door are strange corpse statues that tower above everything but somehow still fit with the overall color scheme of the hub. The Nevarran theme might not be for everyone as it doesn’t hold back with its Mourn Watch influence, but never feels overwhelming or cluttered.

3 Tevinter Theme Feels Opulent & Warm

Can Be Purchased From Lorelei For 700 Gold & 20 Flawless Crystals

The Tevinter theme is undeniably gorgeous with deep red lighting that gives a warmer feeling than any of the other Lighthouse themes and looks opulent without feeling cluttered. The upper area of the library becomes dotted with large ornate vases, strange intricate sculptures, and even a small hookah. Meanwhile, the rest of the library gains large warrior statues that are very reminiscent of Dragon Age 2's Kirkwall. The meeting area feels plush and luxurious with long benches, stands filled with scrolls, and a large framed piece of parchment that dominates with two tables, more books, and vases in front.

Just as with the Antivan theme, the Tevinter theme will be lost during the dragon attacks if Minrathous is not saved, as Lorelei and other important The Veilguard faction s will be lost.

However, this theme is let down by its exterior decorations with strange choices for the courtyard statues. Two massive warrior statues stand on either side of the dining hall doors that feel far too large and bulky for the space. The door to the main lighthouse building is flanked by strange monster statues that look sort of like demonic brontos. This spoils an otherwise excellent theme with lots of great details that feel like Rook is stepping into a grand manor belonging to a magister or powerful Shadow Dragon.

2 Dwarven Theme Works Well With The Elven Space

Can Be Purchased From The Black Emporium For 15 Etheric Remnants

The Dwarven theme is the only Lighthouse theme that can't be purchased from a faction merchant in The Veilguard and instead requires a trip to the Black Emporium, meaning Rooks wanting this theme will have to wait until much later in the game. This theme adds pots with crystals in them and side tables carved to look like dwarves holding up the surface to the upper library level. While lots of dwarven statues in various poses fill the rest of the space, it has a much brighter feel than any of the other Lighthouse themes.

The central meeting area of the library has more side tables and what looks like a faux forge complete with carved reliefs of a blacksmith and bronze weapons. The main focus of the display is a large ornate sword which will have a scroll next to it for an accompanying codex entry. Outside, the Dwarven theme looks fantastic with large golem statues on either side of the dining hall and Lighthouse doors and wall-mounted hammers. Overall, the color scheme for the exterior matches wonderfully with what was already there, letting the banners and golem blend in seamlessly.

1 Elven Theme Brings The Best Of The Dalish To The Lighthouse

Can Be Purchased From Amylia For 500 Gold & 20 Flawless Crystals

Finally, there is a theme that feels the most appropriate for the Lighthouse and that is the Elven theme. The details of this theme are much subtler in places, with small collections of pots on the upper library levels next to Dalish-inspired triangular side tables. The rest of the library gains a collection of statues representing different aspects of Dalish culture. There are large golden wolf statues that match one of the Lighthouse courtyard monuments perfectly and elven archers standing guard over the meeting space. Lastly, the owl statues that decorate the library walls match those from Arlathan.

This is another bright theme for Dragon Age: The Veilguard’s Lighthouse, with beautiful wall decor in the central meeting area. More pots and tables side alongside intricately carved chairs and what looks like empty weapon racks. Outside, more warm red banners hang from the dining hall and the main structure, mirroring the wall tapestry of the interior. Finally, two pairs of stunning halla statues flank the doors, working perfectly with the architecture of the base.
