The Doom Slayer's intimidating appearance in DOOM: The Dark Ages can change when you get different skins unlocked throughout the game. With some skins for the Slayer coming from achieving different milestones, others are granted as unique bonuses for completing specific actions. To get every cosmetic for the Doom Slayer, you'll have to follow some unique instructions outside of playing the game.

Thankfully, you don't need to accumulate an amount of in-game currency in Doom: The Dark Ages to start getting different Slayer skins. Skins are not rewards you get from progress through missions, but rather act as completion rewards for endgame achievements. Some cosmetics are also offered as additional content from various sources you wouldn't interact with normally.

How To Earn Every Free Slayer Skin In Doom: The Dark Ages

Unlock All Suits From Individual Difficulties

Once you start playing Doom: The Dark Ages, you automatically get the Doom Slayer's Default skin, featuring his iconic green armor with a few new features. From a flowing cape to a bulkier design, this new look for the Slayer fits the almost medieval theme of the game, where the Slayer fought with the Sentinels against Hell's armies. With the shield saw and fail weapons in the game, this look is a great free skin to start with.

There are 11 unique weapons in DOOM: The Dark Ages. While all of them are fun to use, some are more effective at killing demons than others are.

For most of the game, the Default Slayer skin is what you use as you go through past events in the modern DOOM game timeline. However, there are four different skins you can earn by either playing the game or interacting with an online portal.

The following table goes over every skin you can get for free, as well as how you unlock them:

Complete every main mission of Doom: The Dark Ages' campaign on any difficulty.

Reverent

Complete every main mission of Doom: The Dark Ages' campaign on Pandemonium difficulty.

Conqueror

Butcher

Opt into receiving Bethesda emails at bethesda.net and claim a free Slayer skin reward bundle. This can be done by scanning a QR code from the game's start menu.

One of the best strategies for earning skins from completing the game on varying difficulties is to adjust the various gameplay sliders as you play. Even with increased difficulties altering gameplay, you can make the game easier through the adjustment of specific features tied to sliders.

Some of these Slayer skins also include new looks for the Atlan mech and Dragon pet you utilize in different missions throughout the game's campaign. These Slayer skins are earned separately from weapon skins, which come from completing multiple objectives during missions. No Slayer skin is a collectible, so don't expect to find any from the secrets in Doom: The Dark Ages hidden in mission levels.

After Playing DOOM: The Dark Ages, I'm Convinced Removing One Series Staple Was The Right Decision

The Dark Ages is another exciting addition to the DOOM franchise, but the removal of one long-held tradition had a mixed reception from its fanbase.

The table below has every Slayer skin from different collaborations, including what you need to do to unlock them:

Doom Slayer Skin

How To Unlock

Ranger

Purchase a Hellfire Pepperoni Pizza or Slice from a participating Prince St. Pizza store, then redeem an offered code from your bethesda.net .

Verdant

Create an NVIDIA and opt-in to the GeForce rewards program. Then, and to the NVIDIA app on a PC or device using a GeForce GTX 10 Series or higher graphics card. On the app, go to the "Redeem" section and select the Doom: The Dark Ages Slayer skin reward, then input the code on your bethesda.net to redeem it.

The Verdant Slayer skin from the GeForce rewards program only lasts for a limited-time, so try to opt-in to the NVIDIA app for the exclusive bonus before it disappears.

Some of these collaboration skins are very limited, especially the Legionary Slayer skin, which only comes from a limited series of hardware for your PC. The Twitch Drop Slayer Skin can only be received from May 12 to June 2, 2025, giving you only a short time to get the cosmetic. With no Slayer skin gained through a physical edition of Doom: The Dark Ages, you'll have to jump on these collabs quickly.

Many cosmetics cost a fair amount of extra money, either through buying additional items like the Limited Edition controller or from a edition of the game. Anyone who gets one of the Doom Slayer's many skins in DOOM: The Dark Ages can use it during any mission, including in cutscenes where Hell's greatest adversary instills fear with every action.
