It was not until the early '70s, when Sutherland was in M*A*S*H in 1970 and Klute in 1971, wherein he played the titular role of John Klute opposite Jane Fonda, that he truly established himself as a film star. Sutherland's career remained active throughout the subsequent decades, playing parts in films such as National Lampoon's Animal House and Ordinary People.
To a modern audience, Sutherland is best known for playing President Coriolanus Snow in the dystopian series The Hunger Games. As Snow, Sutherland is both distinguished and chilling as the mastermind behind The Capitol, showing his ability to transfer his phenomenal acting across both Oscar films and mainstream blockbuster hits. President Snow's legacy would live on in The Hunger Games series through last year's The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes, which showed the character's history.
