Pre-orders for Eberron: Forge of the Artificer, return to Ravenloft.
Now, we know exactly what will appear in Eberron: Forge of the Artificer. Wizards of the Coast posted the pre-order page for Eberron: Forge of the Artificer on D&D Beyond today, revealing a surprisingly low price point of $29.99 and the new rules expansion's content. Included in the book will be rules for the Artificer, a magically gifted inventor, along with five Artificer subclasses. New species, feats, and backgrounds specific to the Eberron campaign setting will also be available. The new book will be released on August 19, 2025.
Everything In Eberron: Forge Of The Artificer
Book Will Include Rules For The Artificer, Plus Backgrounds, Feats, And New Spells
Much of the material in Eberron: Forge of the Artificer was already known thanks to playtests released in late 2024 and earlier in 2025. However, the official listing for the book confirms that the new Cartographer class made the cut, as did 28 new feats. The full list of content is as follows:
- The revised Artificer class, redesigned for the new Core Rules
- (40) player options, including playable species like the mechanical Warforged
- (4) updated Artificer subclasses and (1) new subclass, the Cartographer
- (5) revised species, (18) backgrounds, and (28) feats, including the redesigned Dragonmarks
- (20) new monsters, each inspired by one of three campaign models
- New spells, bastions, and magic items
The selection of feats includes Dragonmarks, which were reworked for the new version of Fifth Edition and can now grow in power as a campaign increases. There will also be three campaign models, each focused on a different aspect of campaigns that can be played within Eberron.
Our Take: A Rules Expansion At A Much Lower Price
$29.99 Is One Of The Cheapest D&D Price Points In Fifth Edition
The biggest surprise with the new pre-order listing isn't what will appear in Eberron: Forge of the Artificer, but rather the low price point. Assuming that the $29.99 pre-order price holds at other retail outlets, this will be one of the cheapest official D&D products released in a long time.

Dungeons & Dragons Has Already Solved The 100 People Vs. 1 Gorilla Question
Dungeons & Dragons provides a common sense ruling on the debate between 100 people versus one gorilla, with people winning out.
The lower price point and focus on "rules expansions" makes it seem like the new book marks a return to the splatbook era of D&D, when TSR and Wizards regularly released new content in slimmer, cheaper books. We'll have to see how often Dungeons & Dragons releases books like Eberron: Forge of the Artificer, because this could be a true game-changer for the game.
