Ursula's Return is the fourth chapter of Disney Lorcana to date, following the initial release of The First Chapter and the subsequent expansions Rise of the Floodborn and Into The Inklands. This one positions the sea witch as the big bad and opens up the option for official solo or cooperative play with Illumineer's Quest - Deep Trouble. For standard play, it doesn't seem like its making any big rule expansions or overhauls, but the addition of plenty of new cards is still sure to shake up the meta in interesting ways.

Coming To Local Game Stores May 17, 2024

The Disney Lorcana: Ursula's Return Illumineer's Trove will first be available in local game stores on May 17 before expanding to a wide release on May 31. This follows a staggered release model that's been consistent across the course of Disney Lorcana so far, helping to game stores and local play scenes by incentivizing in-store purchases. Although Disney Lorcana's initial availability problems made navigating the release of The First Chapter difficult, things have largely stabilized by now, so picking up a new Illumineer's Trove shouldn't be too terrible of a headache on either date.

$50 MSRP Before Tax

Like the release date strategy, the price for the Ursula's Return Illumineer's Trove seems to be sticking to Disney Lorcana's standard approach so far with a $49.99 MSRP. Illumineer's Trove boxes tend to go higher on resale, and some retailers will likely upcharge as well, but shopDisney and many game stores can be expected to stick to this tag.

The bulk of the Illumineer's Trove value is made up by the eight booster packs included, which would run close to $48 if purchased individually without any extras. For the additional content, the Ursula's Return Illumineer's Trove sticks to the revised approach of the Into the Inklands version, which cuts the game tokens, deck boxes, and player's guide of the first two versions in favor of some other options.

None of these products are strictly necessary for playing Disney Lorcana: Ursula's Return, but all of them can make for a potentially smoother experience on the whole. Damage-counter dice are a good way to replace the flimsy counters that come with starter decks, and a spinner lore counter is particularly useful as a way to avoid knocking the standard counters out of place during play.

Disney Lorcana: Ursula's Return Illumineer's Trove Cards

Unlike Starter Decks or the new Gateway and Illumineer's Quest products, there aren't any pre-arranged or guaranteed cards in an Illumineer's Trove, so which cards end up appearing in any individual package is a gamble. That being said, booster packs do follow a basic scheme in of contents, guaranteeing a variety of Disney Lorcana card rarities. Each pack contains 12 cards, six of which will simply be common. Three are uncommon, two are rare or higher, and the last will be a foil of any rarity (or, with a lot of luck, an Enchanted).

Not every Disney Lorcana: Ursula's Return card has yet been revealed, but a good chunk have, so it's possible to get a decent idea of what could show up in an Illumineer's Trove booster packs. Like every chapter of Disney Lorcana, there's a good mix of Disney characters new and old, some appearing in unusual fashion.

There's a big focus on Encanto this time around, but there's a good variety of cards from different sources, and any Disney fan will likely have something to look forward to. Disney Lorcana: Ursula's Return is another exciting addition to the popular trading card game, and the new Illumineer's Trove is definitely a viable way to jump into the new chapter.
