Photo mode in Disney Dreamlight Valley is about to get a huge upgrade in the game's next big free update, Wonderland Whimsy. The update will bring Alice in Wonderland characters to the Valley, complete with a new Realm, Friendship quests, decor items, and more. As always, the free update will also include several quality-of-life upgrades that are nearly as exciting as the new content.

The patch notes for Wonderland Whimsy have been shared on the Developer Update earlier this week. One of these features is the photo mode, which will become much more robust and versatile when the update arrives in Dreamlight Valley on April 23.

Dreamlight Valley Camera Update Will Give Players More Settings

Create The Perfect Photo With New Sliders

At the moment, the camera feature is a fun way to capture moments in-game, but it's fairly limited. There are several poses and facial expressions, and the option to rotate the camera or switch to full-body mode. Any Valley residents who are nearby when you whip out the camera for a selfie will the photo with their own unique pose. Besides those fun features, though, the camera mode has very few options, restricting players to the current lighting and the "default" camera settings.

According to the newly shared patch notes, "photo mode improvements" are coming to Dreamlight Valley that will give players much more control over how their photos turn out. The feature can be briefly glimpsed in the Developer Update from earlier this week, and will now include sliders for the following options:

  • Time of day
  • Depth of field
  • Contrast
  • Saturation
  • Brightness
  • Vignette

The patch notes add that two new poses will be added, as well as the option to "add or remove specific elements," though the notes don't elaborate on what these elements might be.

More Exciting Updates Are Coming To DDV In Wonderland Whimsy Update

Expandable Storage, House Layout Improvements, And More

Photo mode isn't the only feature that's getting an upgrade in the Wonderland Whimsy update. Besides being able to fine-tune the settings for the camera, more exciting QOL updates are coming to the Valley on April 23. The changes include the highly requested option to upgrade storage chests and closets (although some players are miffed that the feature will use Dreamlight and not Gold), a sub-grid for more precise object placement, and the freedom to select any layout in the house expansion feature.

The game's main menu is also getting an overhaul, complete with a new background image and a new space where news will be displayed. As always, several bugs will be squashed as part of the update, and players can expect to find even more fun surprises and new features—including Shop Star Wars items!—when Wonderland Whimsy hits Disney Dreamlight Valley in just a few days.
