Disney Dreamlight Valley is adding a small but much-requested feature in the game's next update. The update will also bring a new Star Path and two new characters, but one seemingly small quality-of-life feature is the most exciting update.
Players will now be able to track recipes and duties on-screen as they gather ingredients, revealing the latest Developer's Update video on the Disney Dreamlight Valley YouTube channel. The feature lets players snap any quest or recipe onto their screen, showing what items they still need and which ones they've already gathered enough of.
The Quest Tracker feature will be added to the game alongside the Jungle Getaway update. The new content will be available in Dreamlight Valley on October 9.
More Quality Of Life Improvements Arriving In Disney Dreamlight Valley Update
These Updates May Seem Minor But Make A Huge Difference
The Dreamlight Valley update video shares information about the Jungle Getaway, officially announcing Timon and Pumbaa's arrival in the Valley. In addition, Scrooge McDuck's store is getting an overhaul that will display select furniture items instead of empty clothing displays. The store's stock is also getting updated, and will now include random selections of Realm decor items that will change daily.

10 Characters Disney Dreamlight Valley Still Needs To Add
With the massive catalog of characters available, Disney Dreamlight Valley needs to add these characters in the future to expand the valley’s options.
Dreamlight Valley is also introducing the option to switch between edit modes. One will allow players to use the current free-flow control scheme, while the other locks the cursor to the screen center to allow for easier object movement and placement. The update also shadow-added an "alternative sprint button" option, likely to address issues that players have been having since the last update.
Dreamlight Valley's Star Path Reveal Is Not As Exciting As The Recipe Tracker
The Star Path Theme Is Underwhelming
The Dreamlight Valley Developer Update finally revealed the next Star Path to be The Night Show. However, the rock-and-roll and Disney mashup was not met with much enthusiasm. October is the time for spooky and fall-themed content, and it seems Disney missed the mark by revealing the "rebellious" Star Path alongside a jungle-themed content update.
It's unlikely that Disney will completely leave out the chance for autumn decor and content, since Dreamlight Valley is such a cozy game, and cozy gamers love autumn. Since the game plans to add Sally from Nightmare Before Christmas in late 2024, Disney Dreamlight Valley players may get a fall update after all, just later than they expected. In the meantime, Disney Dreamlight Valley players can enjoy the new quality-of-life updates added to the game, like the long-awaited recipe tracker.
