If MCU have one thing in common, it's heroes. While the former may not feature a cast as dramatic or angsty, its movies focus on the same triumph of good over evil, all thanks to characters who wouldn't be totally out of place among the Avengers.
Like the heroes of the MCU, Disney's animated heroes don't always need supernatural powers. Some rely on brains and others on brawn to save the day. Whatever their abilities, these Disney characters would slot right into the MCU.
Raya – Hand-To-Hand Combat
In a quest to find the last dragon, Sisu, who she believes can help her banish the wicked Druun.
But it's not just her path that makes her such a worthy candidate. Raya's skills in hand-to-hand combat are impressive even as a child, when she's trained to perfection by her father to protect the Dragon Gem. They only improve as she gets older which, combined with her sheer determination to save what she loves, makes her powerful enough to restore an entire kingdom.
Tarzan – Agility
The closest thing Disney animation has to Spider-Man, Tarzan makes swinging from extreme heights look easy. Although he may not have any actual superpowers, he has the animal instincts to perform superhuman feats.
A lot of this is thanks to his incredible strength, developed by years of scaling trees, soaring from vine to vine, and going hand-to-hand with animals twice his size. But his bravery also plays a huge part. Tarzan's always willing to jump into the fray if it means saving others from danger, and that's all one could ask for from an Avenger.
Merida – Archery
Merida from Brave isn't a typical Disney Princess. To the horror of her mother, she would rather practice archery and ride her horse Angus than participate in the stereotypical duties of finding a husband and perfecting her etiquette.
A born warrior, it's these skills that would make her such a great hero within the MCU. She has flawless aim – she bests all of the men who try to win her hand – and the right courageous, headstrong nature to match.
Buzz Lightyear – Technology
Toy Story's Buzz Lightyear, or at least the version of himself Buzz sees, is a regular man gifted with incredible technology as part of his responsibilities for Star Command.
With deadly laser beams and the ability to fly, a space ranger is more akin to Iron Man than the average astronaut. Buzz Lightyear isn't the humblest character, but he's still willing to make sacrifices to protect others.
Maui – Shape-Shifting
Like all tired and weary heroes, Maui is reluctant to jump back into the fray in Moana. He's previously faced great losses, having angered Te Fiti when he stole her heart to give mankind special powers, and losing the fishhook that gives him most of his powers.
Without this, he does still boast super strength and immortality. But it does provide his greatest gift: shapeshifting. With the ability to transform into anything he pleases, he's a formidable opponent in battle. And while his past choices may have had disastrous consequences, he was trying to help humanity, as would any well-meaning Avenger.
Peter Pan – Flight
He might be forever young, but Peter has the potential to be more of a hero than most adults. Not only does he have fighting skills on par with those of a fully-grown pirate, but he's a charismatic leader and, most importantly, has the ability to fly.
While he's not particularly mature, his love for adventure and inability to back down from a fight would make him a natural fit for any team of superheroes.
Mulan – Swordsmanship
The best superheroes aren't born, they're made. This is definitely true of Mulan, who throws herself headfirst into becoming the ultimate warrior for the sake of her father's reputation.
Luckily, she unlocks something special within herself. Mulan is an exceptionally talented fighter in all areas, but especially swordsmanship. Soon enough she can hold her own against generals with years of experience, and is even capable of saving her entire country. Her potential is endless, and with bravery like hers, she'd never go down without a fight.
Elsa – Magic
Even Elsa doesn't understand how powerful she truly is in Frozen. Taught to hide and suppress her abilities to control and create ice and snow from a young age, she only really starts to get to grips with them after fleeing Arendelle.
It follows a similar blueprint to plenty of young MCU heroes, as does Elsa's behavior in general. While she feels the burden of her magic, she also won't hesitate to use it for the right reasons. She could easily defeat powerful enemies in battle (especially when assisted by her live snowy creations).
Hercules – Super Strength
Just like Thor, Hercules is of divine origin. As the son of Zeus and Hera, he inherits immense abilities: superhuman agility, reflexes, endurance and, of course, strength.
With powers like these, could he really be anything other than a hero? Thanks to Phil, his skills are refined within an inch of their life. Even without his powers, he's naturally inclined to save those in distress. Pure of heart and strong of body, he's the ultimate package for a wholesome MCU hero.
Genie – Cosmic Power
There are just three limitations to Genie's power in Aladdin: He can't kill, make people fall in love, or raise the dead. Other than that, he wields phenomenal power that makes him one of the strongest characters introduced in any Disney movie.
If a team of superheroes was being assembled, he would be top of the list. While the Genie can be goofy and mischievous, he's definitely serious when it counts, and he would be a go-to for tackling any overpowered enemies.
