Diablo 4's latest season has been on a bit of a rollercoaster, with big issues such as the Ring of Mendeln not working properly, powers from Season of Witchcraft causing incredible amounts of damage, and much more. Blizzard is aware of the issues popping up and has been working to solve many of these with their patch, Patch 2.1.2. While it certainly doesn't cover all the frustrations players are having, including missing Witchcraft powers, it does have a host of corrections included in it and finally allows players to pet Dorian the Raven.
Patch notes for Patch 2.1.2 were revealed in an article on favorite builds for Diablo 4, making a better experience for all players.
Diablo 4 Patch Notes Reveal Ring Of Mendeln Has Been Fixed
Plus, Players Will Now Be Able To Pet Dorian The Raven
Starting on Tuesday, February 18th, players should notice a host of improvements to the Season of Witchcraft content, including fixing some of the stability and crashing issues that were noticed after Season 7 began. Additionally, a seemingly minor correction makes Dorian the Raven finally friendly enough to allow players to pet him. A new Nightmare Dungeon Affix has been added that guarantees a Forgotten Altar Spawn, and the Unique Coven Crate will now always provide a Unique.
For those who enjoy playing with Necromancer builds, the useful Ring of Mendeln is finally being corrected.
- Fixed an issue where the damage from Ring of Mendeln was not properly scaling with all of the bonuses that it should.
This is a major boon for Necromancer builds who rely on using minions. While there are other strong builds for Necro, many players who choose the class do so because of the enjoyment they get from having a host of minions. While the Ring of Mendeln was broken, this mechanic was much weaker than it should have been. Thankfully, Patch 2.1.2 promises to correct this so it will scale with bonuses.
Still No Word As To When Two Major Witchcraft Powers Will Be Brought Back
Twilight Warding and Decay Augmentation Were Overpowered
Sadly, one of the largest problems that Diablo 4: Season of Witchcraft has faced is not going to see a fix with Patch 2.1.2. With the season's emphasis on the unique temporary powers granted to players by The Coven, it has been disappointing to see two of the powers disabled due to being overpowered. Decay Augmentation and Twilight Warding are still shown as purchasable in the game, but currently are not able to be equipped or used. Decay Augmentation in particular had problems with being severely overpowered, allowing players to deal trillions of damage.
Though there are still several problems that players would like to see addressed in the game, the patch notes for Patch 2.1.2 look as though they will be able to assist with many of the large impediments players have been facing. The Diablo 4 patch will take effect after the scheduled maintenance period on Tuesday, February 18, 2025.
