Diablo 2: Resurrected continuously challenges players with difficult combat encounters, intricate quests, and hidden areas like the Monastery Barracks and Monastery Catacombs. Finding and completing every area in the game is a long and grueling task, but players will also receive a lot of gear and weapons along the way for doing so. In order to finish each quest in an Act, certain areas will need to be discovered and explored.

Due to the randomly generated maps in Diablo 2: Resurrected, finding a specific area can be very difficult. Some regions are missable or may be overlooked, like the Claw Viper Temple, and this can lead to incomplete quests. In Act I, the Monastery Barracks and the Monastery Catacombs need to be found in order to complete the "Tools of the Trade" and "Sisters of Slaughter" quests, the latter of which is a requirement for moving on to Act II.

Act I has 14 areas to explore, and some have multiple levels to get through. The vast maps in Act I can make it hard to find areas like the Monastery Barracks and Catacombs. Although the layout of the maps is randomly generated, the progression to reach each area stays the same for every player. The Monastery can be entered from the Tamoe Highlands.

Locating the Monastery Barracks & Catacombs in Diablo 2: Resurrected

Diablo 2 Resurrected Monastery Barracks Entrance

There is a specific path that players will follow to reach the Monastery Barracks and Catacombs in Diablo 2: Resurrected. From the Rogue Encampment, the path takes players through Blood Moor, Cold Plains, Stony Fields, Underground age, Dark Wood, Black Marsh, Tamoe Highlands, Monastery Gate, Outer Cloister, and then the Monastery Barracks. Players will need to complete the "Tools of the Trade" quest there, then move on through the three Jail levels.

Next, players will go through the Inner Cloister and the Cathedral; then, finally, they will reach the Monastery Catacombs. There are waypoints in several of these areas that players can use to fast travel to the camp instead of running the long path or using town portal scrolls each time.

In both areas, there will be powerful enemies to face, so having a top build like the Frozen Orb Sorceress is recommended. The Smith is located in the Monastery Barracks and needs to be defeated as part of the "Tools of the Trade" quest. Players will need to collect the Horadric Malus after defeating the Smith to update the quest. In the Monastery Catacombs, players will face Act I's final boss, Andariel. This boss needs to be beaten before moving on to Act II.
