Warning! Contains a preview of Devil's Reign #4

In a new preview for Marvel Comics' Fantastic Four being formed with heroes behind bars. Being among the first heroes to be arrested by Mayor Fisk and his newly deputized Thunderbolts, Reed and Sue Richards have a plan to break out of prison. Furthermore, this new preview reveals that they'll be ed by two other heroes seeking freedom as well.

Beginning with Devil's Reign #1, Wilson Fisk has seemingly played every card he's had at his disposal in a massive endgame. After Fisk discovers that his mind has been tampered with so that he can no longer recall Daredevil's real identity, Matt Murdock's refusal to tell him motivates Kingpin to pull out all the stops. Not only does his new Powers Act ban all superhero activity and vigilantism in New York, but the newly deputized Thunderbolts (mostly classic villains) have been sanctioned to take down any heroes refusing to comply. He's also given his agents access to his secret files containing all sorts of data and secrets he's collected on New York's heroes over the years, making every encounter that much more personal and damaging.

With the first issue of Devil's Reign seeing Reed and Sue Richards arrested and fitted with power-dampening collars by Doctor Octopus (who was granted access to Reed's lab by Fisk), Mr. and Mrs. Fantastic have been in prison ever since. However, the new preview for Devil's Reign #4 from Chip Zdarsky and Marco Checchetto sees the literal power couple making their move, intending to break out while also being ed by Iron Man and Moon Knight. DEVIL'S REIGN PART 4

NEW YORK UNDER SIEGE! Wilson Fisk, duly elected Mayor of New York, has broken. Whatever shred of decency that may have been left of him is gone entirely and now, with an army of super villains at his command, THE KINGPIN has set his gaze upon everyone the heroes of the Marvel Universe hold dear—but even the Kingpin is unaware of the magnitude of danger he has put the city, its citizens and even himself with his war against the city’s super heroes!

While this is more than likely just a temporary grouping of heroes rather than an ongoing version of the Fantastic Four, it's still a fun and dynamic team as they fight their way out of Kingpin's custody. Interestingly enough, Reed and Sue were able to disable the power-dampening collars seeing as how Mr. Fantastic designed them during Marvel's past Civil War, a very similar event involving government legislation and the superhero community. However, Kingpin's new law is causing quite the opposite effect when compared to the Superman Registration Act, uniting heroes together rather than causing division.

Essentially, New York's heroes are fighting Kingpin on two fronts. While they've been defending themselves against the Thunderbolts and resisting arrest, the Avengers have nominated Luke Cage to battle Fisk legitimately by running against him in the mayoral election. As such, it's going to be interesting to see what effect a superhero prison break led by this temporary Fantastic Four will have on the public perception. The full Devil's Reign #4 releases February 9th.
