Though Glaives have been a niche weapon in Lotus-Eater Rocket Sidearm, which may prove to be one of the best options for Void builds.

Since their introduction in Witch Queen, Glaives have been a fun but nonviable option. This is because they don't have the ranged damage to survive endgame content, and while they shine at melee distance, that is not a place Guardians want to be. This has largely relegated Glaives, even Exotic options like Vexcalibur, to niche or meme builds for lower content that provides the flexibility to use them.

A Stasis Behemoth To Build Around

The Rake Angle is a Glaive made for PvE content. It may not be a high-end PvE choice, but it is still much better than other options for the weapon type. Auxiliary Reserves and Appended Mag are the best combination for the Haft and Barrel. The former will increase the Glaives Shield Duration by 15 while taking away from charge time and Reload Speed, which are not important to most PvE builds. Meanwhile, Appended Mag will give an extra shot to the magazine, though this can be swapped for Accurized Rounds for +10 Range if desired.

Slot one is where the big decision comes into play, as Rake Angle has five viable options in Rimestealer, Replenishing Aegis, Overflow, Lead From Gold, and Pugilist. Pugilist would be a great option for builds that want to use their melee frequently but is the weakest of these five. Replenishing Aegis, Overflow, and Lead From Gold are excellent abilities for getting extra ammo or free reloads, which can work for builds that have plenty of survivability from Destiny 2's character stats.

However, the god roll combo is Rimestealer with Chill Clip. Rimestealer grants Frost Armor when destroying Stasis Crystals or frozen targets, while Chill Clip will slow/freeze targets hit with the top half of the Glaive's magazine. This combo creates a powerful Stasis synergy weapon that helps make up for how up-close Glaive s have to be. Chill Clip is easily the best perk for the second row, with the only other option being Close To Melee, which improves Glaive melee damage with projectile kills.

A Surprisingly Pleasant Experience

Rake Angle is a solid PvP option for Glaives, but is limited in what it can do. The best Haft options are Ballistic Tuning, which sacrifices Shield Power for Range, or Supercooled Accelerator, which sacrifices Reload and Handling for Range. The only Magazine option to use is Accurized Rounds for more Range.

Rake Angle is a Vanguard weapon that can be earned by Nightfall Strikes during its rotation.

The ideal perk for slot one would be Impulse Amplifier for the extra projectile speed. Rimestealer and Replenishing Aegis can also work for builds that aim to be more of a tanky menace. Chill Clip once again wins in slot two due to the slow effect it can inflict on other Guardians. However, Unstoppable Force can also be an option as it will increase projectile damage when blocking damage with the shield.

Overall, Rake Angle is a strong option, especially for a Glaive. Few, if any, Glaives have been able to be as popular as this one has, and, remarkably, it can sufficiently work in both PvE and PvP while having strong synergy with builds like Prismatic Warlock's Stasis Turrets. Thus, those who have been looking for a strong Glaive to use should look to get these god rolls of the Rake Angle in Destiny 2.
