Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba -- the Movie: Infinity Castle Latest News

The Latest Information on the Film

The Infinity Castle film trilogy was announced on June 30, 2024, just after the finale of the 4th season of Demon Slayer. Things were pretty quiet for a long time after that, but recently there has been more news about the movie. On March 5, 2025, the US release date was revealed as September 12, 2025, in both subbed and dubbed forms. Other countries will see releases in September and August.

At this time, there is no information about the release dates for the second or third films, but many fans expect them to be released in 2026 and 2027, respectively.

The Story of Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle Trilogy

The Final Battle Between the Demons and the Slayers

Key visual for Infinity Castle part 1

The story of the Infinity Castle trilogy will be the tale of the final battle between Muzan's demons and the Demon Slayer Corps. Following on from the end of Demon Slayer's last season, which saw Muzan kill the organization's leader, Ubuyashiki, the Demon Slayers rushed to his aid, but soon fell into a trap, being pulled down into Muzan's Infinity Castle, where he plans to separate and slaughter them. The Demon Slayers will get separated, and will have to face off with many of Muzan's most powerful demons, such as Akaza, the demon who previously killed Flame Hashira Kyojuro Rengoku.

Fans will want to see the battles and outcomes for themselves, so it's difficult to say more than that. In the manga, the Infinity Castle arc is a series of long, drawn-out battles, so it's difficult to say precisely where the movie trilogy will draw the line between films.

The Characters of Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle Trilogy

The Series Has a Few More Characters to Introduce

As the final battle, the Infinity Castle story arc involves nearly every living character. The only Hashira who will not be fighting is the now-retired Sound Hashira, Tengen Uzui. The Hashira will also be accompanied by Zenitsu, Inosuke, and, of course, Tanjiro, as well as some other Slayers. The Demon Slayers thus have a slight numbers advantage against the demons, but with the massive amount of power some of these demons wield, that may not amount to much.

On the demon side, there are a handful of new characters to be introduced, as well as some characters who haven't gotten much focus stepping into the limelight. The main new demon is Kaigaku, a former Demon Slayer who studied alongside Zenitsu, but became a demon and betrayed their master. Zenitsu will have to face off with this familiar foe in order to restore his master's honor. Doma, the Upper Rank 2 demon, will get his shot in the spotlight as well, battling Shinobu. Most exciting is the possibility of seeing Upper Rank 1, Kokushibo, in action, as he is a centuries-old master swordsman.

Of course, the star of the trilogy will be Muzan himself, finally letting loose and showing what he's truly capable of as he battles the remaining Demon Slayers to the death. Seeing Muzan's full abilities will make it crystal clear why he's been a threat for so long, and why such an incredible effort is needed to attempt to defeat him.
