Demon Slayer Hashira Training Arc featured a highly engaging conversation between Kibutsuji Muzan, the leader of the demons, and Kagaya Ubuyashiki, the leader of the Hashiras. The confrontation between the two is a pivotal moment for the Demon Slayer's narrative as it sets the stage for the showdown with the series' final foe. While the ensuing events were truly epic, one subtle detail during this conversation was highly unexpected: the presence of Ubuyashiki's wife and children.
Given Muzan's cunning nature, he would have anticipated any trap if it were laid under normal circumstances. However, much like the viewers, even the king of demons did not foresee Ubuyashiki's suicidal plan that involved his entire family.

Demon Slayer Hashira Training Arc was the most diverse season yet, and its episodes were unexpectedly well-received.
Ubuyashiki’s Suicidal Plan Is Much More Impactful After Knowing That He Involved His Children
Involving His Children and Wife Was Necessary for Ubuyashiki To Catch Muzan off Guard
Kagaya Ubuyashiki's existence was one of the mysteries of the series, especially as the leader of the Hashiras and demon slayers, given that his appearance was very fragile. However, the finale of Demon Slayer reveals that Ubuyashiki and Muzan stem from the same ancestors. Muzan's transformation into a demon cursed the family, causing its to die before the age of thirty. Since then, the Ubuyashiki family has dedicated their brief lives to seeking justice and bringing down Muzan.
The episode also reveals that Ubuyashiki had the power to see the future, which eventually helped him prepare the exploding trap for Muzan. However, the most intriguing aspect of this confrontation is the presence of Ubuyashiki's children, innocently playing in the courtyard. As the pivotal confrontation unfolds, the scenes of children playing outside are utterly fascinating, adding a layer of suspense and worry. This is where Koyoharu Gotouge's genius writing subtly shines when Muzan's shocking exclamation reveals that he never expected Kagaya to sacrifice his entire family in the process.
On a deeper level, the presence of Kagaya's children's is even more poignant. Merely looking at Kagaya's daughter one could conclude that the children were smart enough to know what was happening. Thus, it is likely that they volunteered for this act, possibly out of their love for their family, or understanding the gravity of the situation and how important it is to do anything to catch Muzan off guard.
Alternatively, Kagaya and his wife, Amane, could have also asked their children to participate in this deathly trap, believing that their presence was essential for the plan’s success. This subtle yet significant detail enhances the emotional depth of the confrontation and is further proof of why Demon Slayer deserves all the attention it gets from the fans.
