Defeating Amanecida of the Molten Thorn in Blasphemous
Unlike many of the other Amanecida fights, players won't have much time to attack the boss before the fight begins. Try to get a hit or two off on his shield if possible, but watch out for his quick dash across the screen. This attack can do massive damage if it clips a player who is in the air at the time. Immediately after this attack, face the right side of the screen and prepare for another assault. The boss will dash from off-screen and attempt to hit the player head-on. This attack is hard to time but listen for the loud yells of the boss as an indication of when to block. Don't try to dodge this attack.
In addition to the typical spinning attack used by the other Amanecida bosses, this boss will shoot three spikes from the sky to try and impale the player. Dodge forward and get some strikes in during this attack but watch out for the charged dash attack that will follow. Players should attempt to jump over this dash instead of blocking it because it is significantly more powerful than the previous assaults. Additionally, the boss will use a series of diagonal charged dashes. The first two dashes are pretty easy to time. Just slide to dodge opposite of the attack. The final charge will be longer than the other two. This is done to confuse the player and get them to dodge too soon. Time this right and follow it up with an immediate jump. When this attack lands, the impact will send a shock wave that lifts the earth around the player. This is a fight-ending attack if the player takes it head-on.
After the player takes off a significant level of the boss's health, the boss will begin using more powerful attacks. the number of falling spikes will jump from three to seven. These will be much harder to avoid in this case. The boss will also begin using the upper platforms to recharge their shield. Prevent this by ing the boss on the platform and getting in as many attacks as possible. The player will need as much time as possible to prevent this recharge. If there is too long between climbing up there and attacking the boss, flee quickly. The final recharge will cause harm to the player.
