Warning: spoilers for Dark Crisis on Infinite Earths #7!The Justice League and DC’s legacy heroes may have just overcome the great darkness in Dark Crisis on Infinite Earths, but their victory may be short-lived as Amanda Waller and the newest version of the last seen on Earth-3, forming her own version of the Justice League to bring planetary peace through force, and while little is known about how she intends to achieve her newest goal, DC’s heroes are once again in her crosshairs.

In Dark Crisis on Infinite Earths #7 (by Joshua Williamson, Giuseppe Camuncoli, Rafa Sandoval, Jack Herbert, Cam Smith and Daniel Sampere), the mysterious of The Council of the Light listen to a proposal brought forth by Amanda Waller. She suggests that the Light take any measures necessary to ensure humanity’s survival amid the surge of new superpowered catastrophes. Waller suggests imprisoning all DC's villain and heroes, branding them a growing threat to the multiverse. But instead of imprisoning metahumans, the Light instead tasks her with eradicating them all, heroes and villains alike. Waller has always sought to save humanity from dangerous metahumans, and it seems that she finally has the means to accomplish her ultimate goal.

Amanda Waller famously created Task Force X, aka the Suicide Squad, to take on the immoral dirty work that heroes like Superman wouldn’t. The black ops team of incarcerated supervillains have undertaken missions that involve assassinating world leaders and wiping out civilian targets. Their most recent mission ended with Waller in command of her own Justice League/Crime Syndicate on Earth-3 (with the roster of Match, Earth-3's Black Canary, Nocturna, Etrigan, Johnny Quick and Superwoman) and the former Suicide Squad back on Earth-Prime. Now with the true Justice League disbanded after Dark Crisis and the potential danger supposedly posed by Earth's metahumans, Waller has formed the ultimate Suicide Squad to bring an end to the metahuman population and the power they possess.

Fans may already be familiar with the Batman/Superman/Green Lantern composite from recent issues of Batman/Superman: World’s Finest, so it stands to reason that this character would be composed of those Justice Leaguers’ arch nemeses. And despite the fact that Waller currently commands her own League on Earth-3, her apparent formation of a new Task Force X suggests that her goals are anything but heroic.

Readers have wondered what Amanda Waller would do next since her victory over the Crime Syndicate and the severing of Earth-3 from the DC Multiverse. Now that she has the resources and manpower to combat DC’s metahumans, it’s likely that heroes and villains alike will have to work together to survive her attack. Whatever The Council of the Light and Waller may be planning, it's clear that Dark Crisis on Infinite Earths #7 just made the new Suicide Squad the biggest threat to all DC's superhumans.
