Warning! Spoilers ahead for Daredevil: Woman Without Fear #2!As odd as it sounds, even Daredevil wishes Frank Castle was still the Punisher. Elektra's ward has gone missing and she's gone all the way to Madripoor to rescue her, only to run into Joe Garrison. Whoever would have thought that the Woman Without Fear would actually be missing the old Punisher?

In Daredevil: Woman Without Fear #2 by Erica Shultz and Michael Dowling, Joe Garrison has come to kill Crossbones, but Elektra needs him alive. The Punisher decides to kill both, forcing Daredevil to think on her feet. As she dodges Garrison's shots, she can't help but internally criticize him, pointing out that Joe misses shots Frank Castle never would have.

Elektra Mocks Joe Garrison For Missing a Shot Marvel

As their fight goes on, Daredevil continues to critique her opponent, saying that he lacks originality and unlike Frank, never learns from his enemies. Daredevil even insults Garrison to his face, saying he's only "masquerading as the Punisher".

Elektra Has No Respect for the New Punisher

Elektra Doesn't Think New Punisher is Original Marvel

Elektra turned over a new leaf when she became the Marvel Universe's second Daredevil. However, after a night on patrol, Elektra returned home and discovered that her ward, Alice, had been taken by the international syndicate, the Maggia. Elektra traveled all the way to Madripoor to search for Alice and boarded a train to wait for one of the Maggia's s. However, waiting for her was the mercenary Crossbones. Elektra fought Crossbones and his underlings while the train was in motion. But during the fight, the new Punisher shot at the train, his bullet nearly taking Daredevil's head off.

Castle's time as the Punisher came to an end after he ed up with the Hand and became a living servant of the Beast. Garrison was introduced shortly after and his debut was not well-received among most fans, who were irked at Castle being removed from his own title. While readers have hashed their feelings about the new Punisher online, this is the first time a hero has expressed a preference for Frank. Of course, Elektra has her own problems with Castle, but it's clear the new Daredevil doesn't think that Garrison is a worthy replacement for the original Punisher.

Daredevil Knows No One Else Is the Punisher Other Than Frank

Elektra Punches the New Punisher and Calls Him a Fake Marvel

It's a fight, of course, so some insults are bound to fly in the heat of the moment. But it's interesting to see Elektra's thoughts mirror criticisms real-life fans have had about the new Punisher. Realistically, she probably couldn't care less who was calling themselves the Punisher, but at the end of the day, Elektra knows the only person that moniker belongs to is Frank. Joe Garrison may wear the suit and remain unchallenged for the moment, but even Daredevil can't abide by someone other than Frank Castle as the Punisher.
