Charlie Cox and Vincent D'Onofrio form one of the Netflix's The Defenders Saga shows. I was heartbroken when Daredevil was canceled after season 3, which continues to stand as the best season of any live-action Marvel series for me to this day.

The dynamic between Kingpin and Daredevil was the driving force of the series. I always found that D'Onofrio and Cox perfectly complemented each other. I believe that their new confirmed Daredevil: Born Again season 2, but whenever they are together, the air lights up with electricity like few MCU duos can generate, and it's because they were perfectly cast.

Vincent D’Onofrio Has Revealed The Moment He Knew Charlie Cox’s Daredevil Was Perfect

The Kingpin Actor Has A Lot Of Praise For His Co-Star

Cox and D'Onofrio have praised one another several times over the years. That said, D'Onofrio recently revealed when he knew Cox was perfect as Daredevil. The actors were together for the first time on set to film Daredevil season 1, episode 6. The Kingpin actor noted how they had never worked together before and how he had no clue whether Cox was a good performer at all. However, all of those doubts dissipated when the Wilson Fisk star, who was off-camera talking to Cox through a walkie, realized he was "doing really good with the dialogue."

Daredevil: Born Again's latest two episodes are perfect for the MCU fans who felt like the show needed more action, as Daredevil returns in style.

From that moment forward, D'Onofrio knew that Netflix's Daredevil would be a hit, as its lead star had the skills to make the project a success. The actor described the moment as amazing because it proved to him that "Daredevil works." Cox could not see the Kingpin star, as D'Onofrio was hiding behind crates off-camera, but he could see everything the Daredevil actor was doing. I think it is fun to get this kind of behind-the-scenes information, and it shows that just as fans are sometimes mixed about a certain casting, those involved with the project can also be.

Charlie Cox Makes Both Sides Of Daredevil Pop

Daredevil's Two TV Series Highlight Why Cox Was Born For Matt Murdock

I agree with D'Onofrio, as there could not be a better actor for the role than Cox. The thing that I love the most about how the actor portrays the Marvel hero is that Cox is on point as both Daredevil and Matt Murdock. We have seen with heroes famous for their dual identities, like DC's Batman, that it is not always that an actor can excel at bringing both sides of the character to life. That is no problem for Cox, who read as many Daredevil comics as he could to prepare for his two Daredevil TV shows.

Daredevil: Born Again allows him to give a Matt Murdock masterclass. His charm, knowledge of the law, and more are on display every week, with White Tiger's trial being the series' high point for me. The Punisher's trial in Netflix's Daredevil had a similar effect. As for the hero's action-packed side, Cox has also always brought the goods. The original show became famous for its one-take fight sequences, with brutal and realistic action. Cox brings a lot of pent-up anger to his character's superhero side in Daredevil: Born Again, showing again why he is the whole package for Daredevil.

The MCU Realizes How Important Cox’s Daredevil Is

The Hero Has Had A Unique Multiverse Saga Role

Since the MCU's Multiverse Saga started, a lot of new characters have been slowly introduced to the franchise. However, a lot of them, as well as longtime MCU fan-favorites, have not appeared nearly as much as they should have. Interestingly, that is not a problem Cox's Daredevil has had to face. I see that as Marvel Studios' way of showing how it views Daredevil as a key character, with Cox having appeared in cameos and ing roles in both MCU movies and TV shows before he got the chance to step back into the lead seat for Daredevil: Born Again.

Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige has already talked about how Cox's Daredevil and Tom Holland's Spider-Man will be the faces of the MCU's street-level corner. Marvel knows just how perfect Cox is for Matt Murdock that the studio even had him voice the character in animation when Daredevil appeared recently on Disney+'s Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man season 1. Marvel knew just how popular Netflix's Daredevil was, and now that the studio brought back Cox, it shows that there are many plans for his future in the franchise, and I think Daredevil can only grow from here.
