Charlie Cox addresses the chances of some Daredevil: Born Again season 1 began a new era for the Devil of Hell's Kitchen. However, the fun is just getting started as Marvel Studios is set to debut Daredevil: Born Again season 2 on Disney+ in March 2026.
The Hollywood Reporter caught up with Cox at this year's Disney Upfront, where the British star was asked if there is any chance that there will be some fun MCU crossovers in Daredevil: Born Again season 2, which is currently in production. Without getting too specific, Cox simply said, "Yeah, yeah!" with a smile, before being asked if there is any possibility his titular hero will show up in Avengers: Doomsday, which is also filming right now. Unfortunately, Cox said, "Not me. I'm excited to see it, but I'm not involved in that."
What Charlie Cox's Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 MCU Crossover Comments Mean
Given how Daredevil: Born Again episode 9 ended, with Mayor Fisk outlawing all vigilante and superhero activity, many fans have been speculating that this sets up the return of various New York City-based heroes. Thus far, Jon Bernthal's Punisher has been the only major Netflix character the MCU has reintroduced, and he is also set to have his own Special Presentation in 2026 that will expand upon his new era in the franchise. With the other Marvel Netflix shows having been confirmed canon to the MCU, this means the other Defenders could be part of Daredevil: Born Again season 2.
Not long after Cox's interview at the Disney Upfront, Marvel revealed that Krysten Ritter's Jessica Jones will be in Daredevil: Born Again season 2, confirming one of the big MCU crossovers for the new season. Given what Matt Murdock said in the Daredevil: Born Again season 1 finale, that he is building an army, it's not a surprise that allies like Jessica Jones are going to be part of it. Whether or not Cox's crossover comments mean announcements for other Defenders actors remains to be seen, but there is more hope than ever now.
Our Take On Charlie Cox's Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 MCU Crossover Comments
While it's disappointing to hear from Cox that Daredevil isn't in the Avengers: Doomsday cast, it's incredibly exciting to know that Daredevil: Born Again season 2 will jump more into MCU crossovers. In the end, this is why Marvel Studios did the right thing in finally making the Marvel Netflix shows canon to the overall franchise, as fans can continue enjoying these iterations of The Defenders characters. Hopefully, more news about Daredevil: Born Again season 2 and what other MCU crossovers may be in store in 2026.
