Jessica Jones' confirmed appearance in Disney+'s Daredevil: Born Again got close to that level in some season 1 moments, and season 2 can fully get there.

When the series was first announced, I was disappointed by how key elements and characters of Netflix's Daredevil were not being used in the new show. That is why I was so thankful for the series' creative overhaul, which added characters like Bullseye, Foggy Nelson, and Karen Page to Daredevil: Born Again's cast. The Netflix returns continue with Krysten Ritter's Jessica Jones in season 2, and we now have teases that other Defenders could her and Charlie Cox's Daredevil.

Luke Cage & Iron Fist’s Actors Have Shared Intriguing Teases

Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 Filming Is Under Way In New York City

Marvel Studios has yet to announce the returns of Iron Fist and Luke Cage, like it did for Ritter's Jessica Jones. However, the actors behind the MCU heroes have taken to social media to tease that they could be coming back soon. On Instagram, Luke Cage actor Mike Colter (via @WarlingHD/Twitter) shared a shot of New York City's skyline, confirming that he is in the same city that Daredevil: Born Again season 2 is currently filming in.

Like Colter, Iron Fist actor Daredevil: Born Again season 2 set photos have shown Jessica Jones and Daredevil together again, so if Iron Fist and Luke Cage are also set to return to the MCU, Colter and Jones will likely start filming soon.

The Defenders Reuniting In Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 Makes A Lot Of Sense For 1 Reason

Matt Murdock Will Need All The Help He Can Get

Daredevil: Born Again season 1's ending set up the perfect way for the Defenders to come back together. At the end of the season, Vincent D'Onofrio's Kingpin won, with Mayor Fisk's Anti-Vigilante Task Force going after vigilantes after Fisk outlawed all of them. New York City is under martial law, giving Kingpin and his team the freedom to do whatever they want. Daredevil decided to start an army to take down the villain and to do so, he needs heroes.

Charlie Cox's Daredevil was the only hero of his army by the end of season 1, which is why it would make a lot of sense for him to recruit the rest of the Defenders to his cause in Daredevil: Born Again season 2. Like Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, and Iron Fist would all be affected by Kingpin's changes to New York, being hunted for their vigilante activities. I hope we see all four of them come together, as well as more street-level MCU heroes as part of Daredevil's army.

What Iron Fist And Luke Cage Could Be Up To In The MCU Since The Defenders Saga Ended

The MCU Left The Heroes' Stories Unfinished

Since all the Netflix Marvel shows were canceled before the heroes' stories could properly conclude, both Luke Cage and Iron Fist have unfinished business. Mike Colter's character underwent a major transformation in the Luke Cage season 2 finale, as he decided to take over Harlem's Paradise and try to dictate what was allowed in an effort to reduce the issues in his neighborhood by controlling crime. As for Iron Fist, Colleen Wing had taken the power from Danny Rand, who was on a journey of self-discovery.

Daredevil: Born Again could reveal what came of those stories, as the show would pick back up with the heroes years later, just like it did with Charlie Cox's Daredevil in season 1. Luke Cage could still be in his role in Harlem's Paradise, which would give Daredevil's army an edge, as it would have some firepower and reputation to challenge Fisk's rule. As for Iron Fist, the MCU series could explain how Danny Rand's journey led to him reclaiming his old role. I hope Daredevil: Born Again season 2 set photos soon confirm whether those teases mean something.
