Speaking with Brandon Davis, Daredevil: Born Again's episode 3 director Michael Cuesta addressed Kamar de los Reyes' death and what it was like for the White Tiger star to film while battling cancer.
According to the director, Marvel did not know what was going on with Reyes at the time. When questioned about how he was doing, Reyes would say, "I'm fine. I want to do it." Check out the full quote below:
"We finished it way before [Kamar de los Reyes ed away]. Sana [Amanat] from Marvel is the one who alerted me. It had to be almost a year after. I mean, he was definitely not well when we were filming, and, at times, we had to shoot around it, but when I heard it was devastating.
But the guy worked really hard. He wanted to be — he worked through a lot of pain. At the time, we didn't know what was happening. I would check with him every half hour, and he was like, 'I'm good, stop bothering Michael. I'm fine. I want to do it.' Which, you know, in retrospect, I really understand him wanting to do that."
