Dandadan has just dropped a surprise new trailer for season 2, making the hype around its premiere all the greater. Dandadan season 2 premieres this July, but before then, fans can get an early preview of season 2 with Dandadan: Evil Eye, a theatrical showing of the season 1 finale and the first three episodes of season 2.

While Dandadan just released a new season 2 trailer a week ago, ahead of the theatrical release, its European licensors have released a new trailer for the theatrical preview, and sure enough, Dandadan season 2’s new trailer gives fans an even better look at what to expect from the theatrical preview and season 2, as a whole. While Dandadan season 2’s new trailer isn’t as long as the previous one, it more than makes up for it with its bevy of new scenes. Naturally, the new trailer provides another great look at Okarun’s fight with the Evil Eye, but it also gives the best look at the Mongolian Death Worm yet, emphasizing not only its importance to the story but how utterly disgusting a creature it is. Dandadan’s new trailer shows that season 2’s biggest elements will be perfectly handled in animation, and it will be great to see it all come together this summer.

The biggest standout of the new trailer, of course, is Momo. Not only does the new trailer reaffirm that Momo makes it out of Dandadan season 1’s controversial cliffhanger unscathed, but she’s also shown involved in plenty of action, whether it was against the Kito family or the Evil Eye and Mongolian Death Worm. After how awkwardly season 1 ended for Momo, Dandadan season 2’s new trailer reaffirms that Momo will be as strong a character as ever, and that’s something everyone can look forward to.

If there’s anything to take away from this trailer and the last, it’s that Dandadan season 2 will be the anime’s best season yet. Season 1 was a major hit for having some of the most gorgeous and creative artwork and animation of any modern anime, and if the new trailers are anything to go on, Dandadan season 2 will have just as much visual spectacle as season 1, if not more.

The biggest draw to season 2, of course, will be the story. Ever since the first teaser trailer, Dandadan has been teasing an intense and dramatic story through the horrors of the Kito family and the tragic villainy of the Evil Eye, and coupled with the great animation and direction, Dandadan season 2 will be even better than season 1 for how well its animation will complement its incredible story. There’s plenty to be excited about with Dandadan season 2, and the theatrical preview makes that truer than it’s ever been before.
