A new theory suggests that Daisy Johnson's Quake might be gearing up to debut in the Agents of SHIELD's seven seasons, as she learned about her identity as Daisy Johnson and became the Inhuman known as Quake. Daisy Johnson became a fan-favorite hero in Agents of SHIELD, prompting long-running theories about her return.

Agents of SHIELD characters into the MCU's official timeline, and this includes Daisy Johnson. There have been many theories about Quake's return over the years since Agents of SHIELD's finale, and the latest suggests she could reappear in Phase 5's Daredevil: Born Again series on Disney+.

Marvel Fans Have Wanted Quake To Return To The MCU Since Agents Of SHIELD Ended

Chloe Bennet's Daisy Johnson Last Appeared In Agents Of SHIELD's Finale In 2020

Seeing Chloe Bennet's "Skye" evolve into Daisy Johnson and then into Quake in Agents of SHIELD was one of the most exciting and entertaining side-stories in the ABC series. She debuted in the series premiere, "Pilot," in 2013, and was a main character until the series finale, "What We're Fighting For," which released in August 2020, and ended with Johnson exploring the cosmos with a time-displaced Daniel Sousa and her half-sister, Kora. Since then, there have been calls for Bennet to reprise the role in the MCU. Many, many calls.

While Chloe Bennet has routinely expressed her openness to returning as Daisy Johnson, she has confirmed time and again that she has not been approached by Marvel Studios and there are no plans for her to come back. There was speculation Secret Invasion, Ms. Marvel and even Deadpool & Wolverine after comments from Ryan Reynolds, but this has not come to fruition. A new emergence in these theories suggests that Daredevil: Born Again might actually bring back Agents of SHIELD's characters, and Quake may have already been teased.

Daredevil: Born Again Already Teased Quake’s Return: MCU Theory Explained

Born Again Episode 2 Might Have Included A Wild Tease To Quake's Return

Hole in the road in Daredevil Born Again

Daredevil: Born Again episode 2, "Optics," saw the new Mayor of New York City, Wilson Fisk, demand that a mysterious hole in the road get filled in, clearing the crew of any red tape. While this could have simply been a throwaway moment to give Fisk an opportunity to make himself look good for the cameras and the public, Marvel seldom does anything without meaning. This has prompted theories about what could have caused this hole in the road, and one of these theories, shared on Instagram, suggests this may have been caused by Quake's Inhuman ability.

Daisy Johnson realized her Inhuman heritage in the mid-season finale of Agents of SHIELD season 2, "What They Become," back in 2014. Johnson's Inhuman ability grants her the power to manipulate and control vibrations, which also allows her to produce concussive blasts, disintegrate objects and even to levitate. The latter involves her shaking the ground, which causes cracks and craters in the earth, similar to the hole in the road seen in Daredevil: Born Again. While this theory might be a bit of a reach, other recent events might the idea of Quake's return.

Why New Theories About Agents Of SHIELD’s Cast’s Return Have Emerged

Clark Gregg Might Have Just Teased His Return As Phil Coulson

Theories about the return of several characters from Agents of SHIELD have been rife for several years, but have seen an uptick in recent days. This has also been spurred by Clark Gregg, the MCU veteran who portrayed Phil Coulson in Phase 1, Captain Marvel, and all seven seasons of Agents of SHIELD, who shared an image of Coulson on his Instagram Story (via thecosmicwonderofficial) with the caption, "Let's go." While this has little context, it's fair to assume this could hint at Phil Coulson's return, and he could bring his Agents of SHIELD co-stars with him.

Clark Gregg's Phil Coulson became a firm favorite character throughout Phase 1, as he appeared in Iron Man, Iron Man 2, Thor and The Avengers, meeting his tragic demise in the latter at the hands of Loki. While he returned to headline Agents of SHIELD, the fact this series takes place outside Marvel Studios' main timeline means Coulson is still presumed dead in the MCU. The multiversal Avengers: Doomsday and Secret Wars could reverse this fate, while street-level projects, including Daredevil: Born Again, would also be a great place to bring the Agents of SHIELD back into action.

Daredevil: Born Again Is The Perfect Place To Bring Quake Into The MCU Proper

Quake Is A Powerful Street-Level Hero

Yes, Daisy Johnson is a formidable Inhuman character, and ended Agents of SHIELD heading out into the cosmos, but, at her core, she is a brilliant street-level hero, making Daredevil: Born Again the perfect place to bring her back into the fray. Johnson started her Agents of SHIELD journey as an elite hacker with the Rising Tide, and this group already has connections to the Defenders Saga, as The Punisher's Micro was a member, too. Even when working with SHIELD, Daisy Johnson was still a hands-on, street-level operative, which fits into Born Again's themes perfectly.

Netflix's Defenders may have been made canon to the MCU, but the fate of several other heroes from Marvel Television's shows hasn't been revealed.

Just as Agents of SHIELD explored the introduction of Inhumans from the ground level, Daredevil: Born Again could do the same. This could add fuel to the fire of Wilson Fisk's plans to outlaw vigilantes, as many regular citizens could find themselves gaining superpowers if Terrigenesis becomes a key part of Born Again and the MCU as a whole. There has currently been no word from Marvel Studios or Chloe Bennet on whether Daisy Johnson's Quake will be returning in Daredevil: Born Again or any other project, but she could be a huge asset to the MCU's stories.
