Night City, the sci-fi dystopian setting for game set to release on November 19, this new website shows a new marketing angle that is sure to boost hype for an already highly anticipated title.

Cyberpunk 2077 was first announced in May 2012, and in the last few years marketing for the game has ramped up in a major way despite a string of major delays. After an initial teaser trailer released early into development, CD Projekt Red revealed the first substantial trailer and pre-alpha demo at E3 2018. The following E3 2019 trailer set the internet on fire with Keanu Reeves memes, as the trailer revealed that the star would play the hip and enigmatic Johnny Silverhand. With the numerous gameplay demos, trailers, and The Witcher series have no doubt generated a level of anticipation that few games receive.

"Welcome to Night City" is the first thing visitors read on the new game's various in-game districts. There's also some information on a handful of the city's transportation options and a smattering of campaign banner ads highlighting the Night City mayoral race between Peralez, Weldon Holt, and incumbent Lucius Rhyne. Most importantly, there are a slew of new Cyberpunk 2077 screenshots that are worth a visit to the site all their own.

The main attraction of the website, at least for those of us living in the real world, is undoubtedly the collection of new screenshots. The screenshots are gorgeous, showcasing the visual quality of the game's engine, REDengine 4. Included in the screenshots are cityscapes at various times of day, as well as more buttoned-up shots of the city's many thoroughfares, side streets, courtyards, and denizens. While the screenshots don't necessarily offer up anything particularly new in of Cyberpunk 2077's main story, they do give us a more expansive and detailed view of Night City and it's prominent districts.

These new perspectives of the city--coupled with the world-building of the website ads and copy--give expectant fans a unique peek into Night City's presentation of itself to the universe it inhabits, and not simply to the world in which it's to be sold in two months' time. As stated previously, the screenshots are beautiful, and the content on the website gives us a better understanding of the dystopian and irreverent environment that players will get to explore this coming November. On its own, the website is a great marketing move by CD Projekt Red, building even more hype on top of what might be on of the most sought-after games of this year.
