Hidden lore within the Cyberpunk 2077's rumored gig DLC supposedly coming sometime during 2022, it also brings to mind where the first big expansion will take place once released next year. CD Projekt RED can take V to multiple unexplored areas in the expansion, but because there's already a deep back history with outer space in Cyberpunk 2077, it makes for a potential location candidate.

While Cyberpunk 2077's open-world design doesn't allow V the option to travel into outer space while exploring, it can be visited while progressing through the main playthrough. During the Arasaka ending, V wakes up in a spaceship owned by the mega Japanese corporation, to which scientists are running physical and cognitive tests on the protagonist; however, players can only look out of the window into outer space while in the ship. In another Cyberpunk 2077 ending mission called "Path To Glory," which follows Rogue's questline, V goes outside of Earth looking to get to the space-faring Cyrstal Palace station. This questline ends on a cliffhanger, which might be where the 2023 expansion picks up, but even if it doesn't, there are other space stations - even nations - a part of the Cyberpunk 2077 universe that can be traversable locations.

Even though the locations in outer space don't play a huge role in V's baseline journey, they still have a significant world-building aspect to Cyberpunk 2077's lore. CD Projekt RED even left hidden article shards throughout Night City that discusses some of the space colonization history, which could be pointing to future content. If the confirmed 2023 Cyberpunk 2077 expansion does take place in outer space, the game can add in a lot of new game elements.

Night City is known for its six megacorporations that control the different sectors of the map; however, the European Space Agency (ESA) dominates outer space - including owning the Crystal Place station located in Lagrange point 1. One hidden article shard, in particular, titled "The Struggle of O'Neill Station," shows that a Cyberpunk 2077 expansion in space has the potential to make an interesting questline. The shard describes how a revolt took place on the space station named O'Neill 1, which eventually led to the independence and creation of O'Neill 2; both stations became the first two nations established outside of Earth. There's still a lot of mystery surrounding these floating stations, among other elements of outer space, and CD Projekt RED could've very well done this on purpose to set up the best Cyberpunk 2077 moments in its future expansion.

There are countless new elements that can be brought into Cyberpunk 2077 if the studio decides to go with extra content in space. Vehicles can get an overhaul and flying cars or spaceships can finally be purchasable and usable. There are tons of flying vehicles in Night City already, but V cannot own or drive one, although there are some moments of the story which require players to ride in one. Not only that, but new weapons, clothing, armor, and perks can all be tailored to fit an enjoyable experience. If the 2023 expansion takes players into outer space, and it should because it serves as a good place to have one, Cyberpunk 2077's best Cyberware will give the game a Star Wars-like feel.
