If you are looking to get Rache Bartmoss' Cyberdeck in Cyberpunk 2077, you will find it in the most unexpected spot possible. The Legendary hacker can be found in a landfill, the same pot where V was recovered by Dexter and Takemura. While you can find Bartmoss in three different ways, the location is specifically linked to the "Kold Mirage" quest.

There are three ways to trigger this quest, all leading to Bartmoss' location. The first method is quite straightforward as it involves being around the area, and the quest will begin itself. The second way is to complete the "Spellbound" quest for Nix, during which you will decrypt a shard. The quest should trigger automatically; however, it can also be given to you by Nix if you choose not to decrypt the shard. Finally, if you have 37 Street Cred or more, this quest can commence during "Many Ways to Skin a Cat."

Once you have retrieved Rache Bartmoss' cyberdeck, you will get some background information from Johnny. He will conclude that the infamous hacker never told anyone the location of his Cryopod due to paranoia. This leads to Bartmoss' death once the power goes out, and nobody can fix the pod due to lack of information. The Cyberdeck is with Bartmoss in the pod. After grabbing the Cyberdeck, you will notice that V cannot equip it. Continuing this quest will show why V wouldn't want to do that anyway.

V then calls Nix to ask about the Cyberdeck, and they meet at the Afterlife Club. While attempting to extract data off Bartmoss' Cyberdeck, Nix will begin convulsing, and his cybernetics will malfunction due to malware. V must breach the computer next to him or turn off the room's power to save him.

Only breaching the computer will grant the full rewards for the quest, which are three high-level QuichHacks!

Who Rache Bartmoss Was In Cyberpunk 2077

Two Netrunners in Netrunning chairs in Cyberpunk 2077.

Sometime in the late 2010s, the same time Johnny Silverhand was alive, Rache Bartmoss was a genius Netrunner who hated corps and lived life on the run. He is most ed for his Roving Autonomous Bartmoss Interface Drones virus, also known as R.A.B.I.D.S., which was designed to steal and release data from corporations.

When it was unleashed on the net, among the data released were many military AIs, which, now free from their corporate masters, became rogue AIs and destroyed the first net. This event is known as the Datakrash and is the reason that during several quests, players will encounter punchcard technology, which was used in place of higher tech while the net was dangerously out of control.

Up until the events of Cyberpunk 2077, no one knew what happened to Rache Bartmoss. His death had been reported several times, but the notorious hacker kept popping up intermittently until he faded into legend.

The name Bartmoss will be familiar to many players, as he is mentioned throughout the game. V repeatedly receives messages from an organization calling itself the Bartmoss Collective, which is later revealed to be a prank. As the main story of Cyberpunk progresses, V's quest to find a cure to the engram of rockerboy and nuclear terrorist Johnny Silverhand taking over their brain leads them to learn more about the Blackwall, the firewall that separates the net from rogue AIs. In turn, V and the player learn that the Blackwall was made necessary by the Datakrash, and Rache Bartmoss' importance to the history of the Cyberpunk 2077's world becomes clearer.
