Reminding people of old vintage cartoons, Cuphead is a 2D platformer action game where players put themselves in the shoes of a cartoon cup attempting to regain their soul. It is filled with difficult bosses, fun cartoonish gimmicks, and various other challenges.

But what can the player do when they finally defeat the Devil and repay their debt? Thankfully the Cuphead world is decently sized. Some NPCs offer hidden quests, there are collectibles, and there are several challenges the player can overcome if they so choose.  So here are some things the player can try if they want to continue playing the game for a little bit longer.

Re-Defeat Bosses in Cuphead

Cuphead Devil First Phase

The player may have beaten the game, but can they say that they have mastered it? When a player hones their skills to the point that they can effectively defeat several bosses there is often a massive sense of accomplishment. In Cuphead, this can be achieved by repeatedly defeating bosses for a higher rank.

Players should try going through each isle and attempt to gain an A rank for each boss. Each isle that the player dominates will give them an achievement like “Sheriff” or “Boss”. But it is when the player receives the achievement of “King” that the player really knows that they have mastered the game in of combat. It can also serve as useful practice if the player wants to replay the game latter on but on a higher difficulty.

Play Cuphead Again but With a Friend

Several people already know this, but one thing that is almost always guaranteed to make a game more fun is to play it with a friend. Start a new game, select a difficulty level, and bring a friend along for the ride. Show them the ropes, what tactics to use, and any interesting secrets. All while engaging in playful banter that only friends can provide.

There is nothing quite like playing a game with a friend.

Collect the Hidden Coins in Cuphead

Cuphead Gold Coin

The player may have noticed this already, but there are several golden coins hiding out in the overworld. Some of them are available immediately, but others only appear if the player has met a certain condition like beating every boss on an isle.

But regardless of how they appear, nearly all of these coins are well hidden. They are often nestled behind cardboard cutouts, buildings, trees, etc. Searching for them can be a decent pastime for any veteran player if they are not in the mood for combat. Collect them all and there will even be an achievement awarded to the player.

Complete NPC Quests in Cuphead

Cuphead Dramatic Fanatic

There are two NPCs of note in the overworld: the turtle and a fork wearing a monocle. Talk to them and they will hint about how players can play the game in order to get an achievement and even gain a new game mode. One quest includes completing all run n’ gun challenges without killing a single enemy. Another wants the player to go through 15 levels and gain an A rank on all of them.

Complete these quests and the player will be able to view the game through a whole new lens!
