Crytek has teased a tech features video was released to generate hype for the imminent launch.
The game’s developer, Crytek, has been behind the franchise since its inception, and was the developer of the first Crytek has stated it believes SSDs to be the true game-changers among the new hardware.
As fans wait for Crysis Remastered to launch for additional systems, Crytek posted a teaser on the official Crysis Twitter page teasing a potentially imminent release on delayed platforms. The post claims, “The wait is almost over, and we promise it will be worth it! Please stand-by for further intel.” Moreover, the company released a new wallpaper featuring an 8K Nanosuit veteran fans will recognize from the Crysis series. The “#StayTuned” hashtag left at the post’s end suggests more information will be forthcoming.
If there’s one thing for which gamers are not known, it’s patience. When their anticipation surges and expectations skyrocket, delays make plenty of players beyond antsy. While Crysis Remastered was only announced in April 2020, fans have been craving the moment they get their hands on it. Nintendo Switch s were fortunate in that they were able to get their wish sooner, though whether it was worth the expediency is up for debate.
Remasters are a chance for developers to take something that was once the talk of the industry and give it renewed life, bringing back loyal fans as well as potentially attracting new ones. While remasters aren’t indicative of current industry standards or technological advancements - unlike The Master Chief Collection, remasters are a place where old memories become new, as Crysis Remastered is trying to do for Crytek's benchmark FPS.
