Paradox Interactive has announced that Crusader Kings 3 is a strategy game that is set in the Middle Ages, with the player able to choose from a massive range of rulers as they attempt to create a dynasty that will build an empire.
There are some strategy games that put the player in the role of a nameless commander or monarch, who rules over a side and controls each unit. In Crusader Kings 3, the player controls the current ruler of a faction. The personality and individual traits of the ruler are vitally important, as is their connection to other nobles, and their own family. Crusader Kings 3 is about creating a powerful family, which is often easier said than done, and a lack of suitable heirs is the quickest way to destroy an ancient and mighty dynasty.
Crusader Kings 3 is currently available on PC, Linux, and macOS, but Paradox Interactive promised that console ports of Crusader Kings 3 were on the way. Paradox Interactive revealed in a private press event that the PS5 and Xbox Series X/S versions of Crusader Kings 3 will launch on March 29, 2022. The console versions of Crusader Kings 3 have had their UI and control scheme reworked, in order to make the game playable using a controller. A new trailer for the console port of Crusader Kings 3 has been ed to the Paradox Interactive YouTube channel.
The PS5 version of Crusader Kings 3 uses the Activity Cards and Help feature of the system, as well as using the adaptive triggers to let the player know when their character is stressed (which is a condition that happens when they perform actions that go against their personality). The Xbox Series X/S version of the game can make use of Xbox's Quick Resume feature. Paradox Interactive had no announcements regarding Crusader Kings 3 coming to the console version of Xbox Game , but the PC version is currently on PC Game , so there's a good chance the console version will follow suit.
Paradox Interactive has stressed that nothing has changed between the different versions of the game. The console version has been altered to make it easier to play the game using a controller, which involves using the joysticks to quickly search the world map and switching between tabs using the trigger buttons, but it's still the same game as before. Unfortunately, those playing Crusader Kings 3 console must wait for DLC, which is due to come at an unspecified date in the future.
Crusader Kings 3 will launch on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S on March 29, 2022.
