Criminal Minds Evolution acts as a continuation of the original CBS Criminal Minds series, and a fourth season of the show is on the way. The franchise focuses on the Behavioral Analysis Unit of the FBI, the team that uses psychology to unravel mysteries that cross state lines. That hook has allowed Criminal Minds to stand out from the sea of crime procedurals on television and retain a loyal fan base.
Criminal Minds Evolution Season 4 will mark the 19th season of the main Criminal Minds series. Though there have been other spinoffs (Criminal Minds: Beyond Borders and Criminal Minds: Suspect Behavior), only the flagship series and its sequel have withstood the pressures of broadcast television. Long-time fans of the franchise do not want the show to end, and with another season on the way, it’s clear those fans will have plenty more stories to watch.

Criminal Minds Evolution Season 4 Cast
The Cast Is Expected To Return
The cast of Criminal Minds Evolution Season 4 is not officially known, but the main cast is expected to return. The drama has made it clear that no characters are safe, which means there could be series regulars in Season 3 who do not make it to the fourth season, but the audience will not know until those stories play out. The Behavioral Analysis Unit’s tight-knit team, however, consists of series mainstays like Paget Brewster, AJ Cook, and Joe Mantegna, and it seems unlikely that the writers will want to lose them.

The big question for a lot of fans is whether or not stars from the original series could make a return. Aaron Hotchner (played by Thomas Gibson), Derek Morgan (Shemar Moore), and Dr. Spencer Reid (Matthew Gray Gubler) are all fan favorites of the original series who did not return for the sequel show. While Gubler reprises his role as Dr. Reid in Season 3, no one else is confirmed to return for Criminal Minds Evolution Season 4.
