Criminal Minds: Evolution season 3, where she is currently playing the recurring role of Dr. Julia Ochoa, has previously had acting arcs on shows like Dexter and Lucifer before ing the Criminal Minds revival show in 2025.
In an interview with ScreenRant, Garcia discussed her time on Criminal Minds: Evolution, and also talked about a potential reunion with Ellis, who will head up CIA, which is set to air in fall 2025. Garcia was asked about the chances of appearing on the show, and responded in a positive, yet noncommittal, way. She revealed she is in semi-regular with Ellis, but that they spend more time golfing than anything else. However, she seems amenable to the idea of a reunion. Check out Garcia's comments below:
ScreenRant: Your old Lucifer buddy Tom Ellis has another show now with CIA. Have you hit him up yet, like, 'Hey, there could be a role for me on your show'?
Aimee Garcia: "I have not yet. I've more hit him up to golf because he's the best golfer I know. And I'm like, 'Hey, I'm going to a charity golf tournament in Chicago. Can we practice?' And he's like, 'Oh, I'm out of town.' So I do check in with him every three months to see how the family's doing and whatnot. But you know what? You've given me a good idea. [laughing] Sometimes great ideas start on Zooms.
What This Means For The Possibility Of A CIA Appearance For Garcia
Nothing Is Confirmed But Garcia Refuses To Rule Out The Possibility
Garcia's comments show that this is not something she's been thinking about, but they do suggest this is an idea she is not averse to. The fact she and Ellis are still in with one another four years after Lucifer's final season aired suggests that they have a strong professional and personal bond. There is a good chance that Garcia could have a stint on CIA in the future, especially if Ellis has influence over casting and character arcs.
Garcia certainly responded positively to the idea of a role in CIA, and, given her on-screen chemistry with Ellis in Lucifer, it's likely he would be happy with her ing his new show.
However, for now, it is likely that Garcia is focused on her role on Criminal Minds: Evolution, and is not looking beyond that project right now. ing a long-running and well-established show like Criminal Minds can be daunting, and focusing on giving her best for the character could well ensure a long-term position on the show. But, if CIA becomes a hit, there is a chance of a Lucifer reunion, and Garcia has refused to rule anything out at this stage.
Our Take On The Chances Of A Lucifer Reunion
It Will Depend On Scheduling & If There Is Room In The Plot
Garcia certainly responded positively to the idea of a role in CIA, and, given her on-screen chemistry with Ellis in Lucifer, it's likely he would be happy with her ing his new show. But, with Garcia currently filming Criminal Minds: Evolution, it would be difficult to find room in her schedule to make this happen right now, especially if her arc continues into Criminal Minds: Evolution season 4. However, given that CIA is only set to debut in the fall, there should be future scope for Garcia to appear and reunite with Ellis.
