updates about Cobra Kai season 6, part 2 coming thick and fast ahead of its November 15, 2024, questions are being raised about how the show will bring the many storylines it possesses to a close.
One of these questions is how Cobra Kai will tie to the season 6's biggest questions surrounding his character. As the new leader of the titular dojo in the Sekai Taikai, Kreese will face off against Johnny Lawrence and Daniel LaRusso one last time, and the show needs to include several moments for his character before it ends.
8 Kreese Gets Revenge On Terry Silver
The Duo Has Unfinished Business
In Cobra Kai seasons 4 and 5, Terry Silver returned to terrorize Daniel LaRusso once more as the leader of the dojo. Kreese worked alongside Silver in the former season, yet was betrayed in the latter. Silver framed Kreese for the assault on Stingray, sending him to prison for the majority of Cobra Kai season 5. Now that Kreese is free, he will surely want to exact his revenge against Terry Silver.
Kreese was focused on reclaiming Cobra Kai via Master Kim's students in South Korea and, as such, did not play a part in Silver's downfall in Cobra Kai season 5...
This was hinted at in Cobra Kai season 4's ending. When Kreese was being arrested, he angrily told Terry that he would regret double-crossing him. In Cobra Kai season 6, part 1, Kreese was focused on reclaiming Cobra Kai via Master Kim's students in South Korea and, as such, did not play a part in Silver's downfall in Cobra Kai season 5. For this reason, Cobra Kai needs to address Kreese's revenge against Silver before the show ends.
7 Cobra Kai Needs To Finish Kreese's Origin Story
It Is Still Unclear How Kreese Became Who He Is
Since Cobra Kai season 2, the show has outlined Kreese's backstory. His humble beginnings were shown, as was his relationship with his wife before leaving to fight in the Vietnam War. Cobra Kai season 3's flashbacks highlighted his wife's death, as well as his torment after being imprisoned in Vietnam. All of this was seemingly included to explain how Kreese turned from a nice man to the ruthless, merciless karate master he is in the present.

Cobra Kai Season 3: Kreese's Origin Explained (& Why He Turned Bad)
Cobra Kai season 3 reveals the tragic origin of John Kreese (Martin Kove) and provides context on how Cobra Kai's sensei became a sadistic sociopath.
However, in the flashbacks to Kreese's life shown in Cobra Kai season 4, he was still depicted as someone with a strong moral code. This was done to establish Terry Silver as the show's main villain, as were the flashbacks in Cobra Kai season 5 and the brief moments from Cobra Kai season 6 that showed Kreese defending Kim Da-eun. With this in mind, Cobra Kai season 6 needs to include the final set of flashbacks that showcase how Kreese became the way he did, rather than leave him off as a nice guy in the past without explaining his transition.
6 Kreese Has One Last Showdown With Johnny
Kreese Has To Overcome His Final Weakness
Across Cobra Kai's six seasons, it has been made clear that Kreese has a soft spot for Johnny Lawrence. The latter has always been shown to be the former's blind spot regarding his no-mercy rule, something that Terry Silver even picked up on in Cobra Kai season 4. In fact, Kreese's soft spot for Johnny allowed Silver to realize that Kreese was his weakness, leading to the framing of his arrest.
In Cobra Kai season 6, Kreese was shown fighting Johnny Lawrence in a hallucination during his time in South Korea. Kreese overcame Johnny and solidified himself as a true Cobra Kai practitioner, symbolizing that he has overcome his weakness. However, this was only done so via hallucinations. With Johnny and Kreese coming face to face once more as Cobra Kai's Sekai Taikai fighters clash, the two must have one final showdown in which Kreese tries to overcome his weakness personally, and Johnny tries to best his old master once and for all.
5 Kreese Needs To Face Off Against Daniel
Daniel Is As Much Kreese's Enemy As Johnny
With Kreese being depicted as the main enemy of Johnny in Cobra Kai, Silver was the same for Daniel LaRusso. Despite that, Silver was defeated by Daniel in Cobra Kai season 5's finale, seemingly bringing that rivalry to a close. Now, John Kreese has returned as season 6's main villain, meaning Daniel will have to overcome him as well as Johnny, while Miyagi-Do's six fighters will have to come up against Cobra Kai.

After all, John Kreese was the orchestrator of Daniel's torment in the original The Karate Kid timeline. Although Johnny vs. Kreese will likely be Cobra Kai season 6's main event, the latter and Daniel are now in close proximity once more. This, combined with the certainty of torment towards Daniel's students that will be conducted by Kreese, gives enough reason for the two to have another go at each other before the show ends.
4 Kreese's Storyline With Tory Needs To Be Resolved
Kreese's One Sympathetic Storyline Needs To Be Handled Well
Throughout most of Cobra Kai, Kreese's flashbacks to pre-Vietnam have been the primary ways the character has been depicted with any ounce of sympathy. The present-day storylines of Cobra Kai have been almost entirely removed from this, save for Kreese's relationship with Tory Nichols. From sympathizing with Tory over her mother's illness to threatening her landlord who is giving her a tough time, Kreese has a soft spot for Tory just as he did for Johnny.
There are theories that Kreese had something to do with Tory's mother's death, potentially hinting at a more dramatic storyline between the two in Cobra Kai season 6's final two parts.
This is sure to continue in Cobra Kai season 6, with Tory now part of the titular dojo once more under Kreese's tutelage. With the Tori and Kreese team working together again and Tory's mother having ed away, Kreese's weakness for Tory may prove to be a bigger plot point in Cobra Kai season 6, parts 2 and 3. Whether Tory proves to be Kreese's downfall due to his weakness for her or he undergoes a complete redemption arc because of her remains to be seen, but a resolution, either way, must be part of Cobra Kai before season 6 rounds out the show.
3 Kreese Needs To Make Cobra Kai His Own
Kreese Is Not One Who Shares Power
Since the earliest days of The Karate Kid franchise, a constant has remained for Kreese: he does not share power. This was highlighted above all else in Cobra Kai season 4 when he clashed with Silver, despite his weaknesses for Johnny and Tory potentially leading him down a better path. However, the betrayal by Silver pushed Kreese back down a darker path that led to him taking control of the South Korean Cobra Kai, resolving to overcome his weaknesses as a result.
With Kreese doing so and being positioned as Cobra Kai season 6's one true villain, he could seek to lead the dojo alone. He already has been shown to have a bad history with Master Kim and, while Kreese's flashbacks showed he had sympathy for his grandaughter Kim Da-eun, he could now see her as a threat to his power. In Cobra Kai season 6's final two parts, Kreese will likely seek to be the one and only master of Cobra Kai's hidden students.
2 Kreese Must Be Defeated With Miyagi-Do
Kreese's Thematic Ending Has Already Been Seeded
Despite it being unclear how Kreese's story will end, be it redemption or final defeat, the latter scenario has one clear outcome that needs to happen. If it does come down to a battle with Kreese, he must be defeated by Miyagi-Do karate. The clash between Miyagi-Do and Cobra Kai styles of karate has been at the center of the entire show, with Kreese spearheading the latter.

Are Those Really Miyagi-Do's 6 Best Fighters In Cobra Kai? Who We Think The Strongest Lineup Really Is
Cobra Kai is gearing up for the final showdown at the Sekai Taikai tournament, but the six contenders from Miyagi-Do may not be the best the dojo had.
Kreese has often shown to disrespect Miyagi-Do, from disregarding Miyagi's strength in the original movies to endlessly tormenting Daniel and his way of teaching in Cobra Kai. Therefore, Kreese is the true master of Cobra Kai and has a dojo dedicated to his way, meaning his eventual defeat by the leaders of Miyagi-Do and a dojo that practices this type of karate would be thematically meaningful. Furthermore, if Johnny is the one to defeat Kreese using Miyagi-Do, it would put the final nail in the coffin of Cobra Kai by showcasing it can die in favor of something better.
1 Kreese's Ending Should Play On Cobra Kai's Motto
Cobra Kai Never Dies... Or Does It?
The Karate Kid first introduced the motto that "Cobra Kai Never Dies." Since then, this has been the main phrase of anyone practicing Cobra Kai, from Kreese and Silver to Johnny Lawrence. With such a prominent, recognizable motto being associated with Cobra Kai and, thus, Kreese, his ending in Cobra Kai season 6 should play on these words.
One possibility is that Kreese dies in Cobra Kai season 6. Not only would this flip the idea that he has seemingly died multiple times in the past before miraculously showing up again, but it would also prove the irony of his dojo's motto as Cobra Kai dies with him. The other possibility is that Kreese survives the events of Cobra Kai but gives up the fight. This would ultimately prove his motto wrong and serve as a way for the idea of Cobra Kai to be defeated without the need for death and bloodshed with Kreese's death.
