Karate Kid Part II’s Chozen could be the perfect role model for Tory in Terry Silver's plan unfolds and the Cobra Kai dojo takes over the Valley, Tory’s loyalties and beliefs will be put to test.

The fate of Cobra Kai's students often depends on which master they follow. Although Tory had ed Cobra Kai back in the Johnny Lawrence era, it was in Kreese that she found her first sensei. While Kreese does care for Tory's well-being, the influence of his "no mercy" method on the already troubled Tory put the character on a path toward villainy. Even though Tory has won the tournament, the character suffered one of her biggest losses in the series at the end of season 4. Upon discovering that Terry Silver had bought the referee at the All-Valley Karate Tournament, Tory lost the validation that it was so important to her. With Kreese in jail and Silver taking over Cobra Kai, Tory will likely walk away from the dojo at some point.

Even if Tory leaves Cobra Kai, it is hard to imagine she would find it easy to train under Daniel LaRusso. The radical difference in philosophies, but more importantly, Tory’s fraught and ugly history with Sam would make that a difficult relationship. However, with the addition of Chozen to Miyagi-Do for Cobra Kai season 5, he now provides a second mentoring option for Tory. Much more than Daniel or Johnny, Chozen knows what it is like to have walked through a turbulent path and yet found himself again and been redeemed. The character can share his experiences with Tory and show her that it is never too late for a fresh start. What's more, Chozen's Cobra Kai karate style, more aggressive than Daniel's, may also suit Tory better.

As the villain of Karate Kid 2, Chozen nearly killed Daniel and Kumiko out of envy and revenge, but Cobra Kai season 3 revealed that the character regretted his actions and became friends with Kumiko. Chozen has also made amends with Daniel and even ed to his old rival some techniques from the Miyagi style of karate Daniel didn't know. In addition, Chozen already has experience in teaching as he mentioned having a class during season 3. Now returning to the series, Chozen could be a much better mentor for Tory than Kreese or Silver ever were.

Tory’s redemption arc in Cobra Kai season 5 will not be an easy path for the character to follow, but having Chozen as her sensei could make things far less difficult. Chozen's experience not only as a teacher of the Miyagi style of karate but in life as a whole may be what Tory's journey asks for at the moment. With many pairings between master and apprentice already established in Cobra Kai, Chozen becoming Tory’s sensei could add a great new dynamic into the show.
