What has Brooklyn Nine-Nine? The American actress exited the TV show in 2019 after a five-season run as Gina Linetti, of the series' most popular characters. Since 2016, Peretti has been married to filmmaker Jordan Peele while continuously developing her resume in mainstream television and cinema.
Peretti announced her decision to leave Brooklyn Nine-Nine in October 2018. Five months prior, the series was canceled by Fox but then immediately found a new home at NBC. Peretti enlivened the Brooklyn Nine-Nine main cast with her comedic interpretation of Gina Linetti, an istrative character who feels loyal to her long-time friend/colleague Jake Peralta (Andy Samberg) while both unnerving and entertaining her peers with a lackadaisical attitude and narcissistic behavior.

Peretti has landed numerous on-screen roles in TV and movies since leaving The Photograph starring Issa Rae and Lakeith Stanfield, and then subsequently ed the ensemble cast for the 2020 comedy Friendsgiving featuring Malin Åkerman, Kat Dennings, and Jane Seymour.
In 2021, Peretti voiced Lara Silverblatt in Brooklyn Nine-Nine season 8 should de-fund the police in response to continued real-world institutional corruption:
"'A lot of my friends and family at this point, that’s their livelihood and they’re on that show, so it’s hard for me to want to undercut them. I know they’re working to reshape this coming season. I’m very curious and interested to see what they do,' Peretti said. 'I get what people are saying. I get their concerns, and you know, my thought was like ‘They should just defund the police!’ And have everyone going to do community-oriented work. That’s probably not what they’re going to do. But I’m looking forward to seeing what they do because I know they have to respond to this, the unfortunate reality that policing has been and is.”
