Esteemed developer The Witcher 4 Confirmed: New Saga In Development [Updated]The recent CD PROJEKT Group Strategy Update, and a CD Projekt Red Twitter post, revealed an project codenamed Hadar. Unlike the developer's previous games, Hadar will apparently belong to a third and completely original intellectual property created from scratch by CD Projekt Red. This game is apparently in the very earliest stages of the development process, with the studio still molding a unique setting before building a game set within it. While few details are given, it's safe to assume that CD Projekt Red's Hadar won't be releasing any time soon.

CD Projekt Red Will Tackle An Original IP

Alongside the exciting projects announced today, CD Projekt Red also recently announced a Cyberpunk 2077 DLC titled Phantom Liberty. The game's first and only expansion will take players to a brand-new district of Night City to experience an original story involving Johnny Silverhand and the United States government. The announcement of Phantom Liberty also coincided with the launch of Cyberpunk: Edgerunners, a Netflix anime series that has proven wildly popular among fans of the franchise. With a multitude of exciting announcements and releases, it seems that CD Projekt Red may be able to redeem the notoriously poor launch of Cyberpunk 2077.

The Witcher games and Cyberpunk 2077 were both based on already existing intellectual properties, but CD Projekt Red will soon break new ground by developing a wholly original IP. Details remain sparce, but this new game will likely let the developer branch out and create a wildly different setting compared to The Witcher and Cyberpunk 2077. The new property is in the earliest stages of development, however, so it will likely be quite a while before CD Projekt Red unveils Hadar to the world.
